I saw a preview for this right before the showing of "Zodiac" and looks so amazing. It is premiering on the 25th of this month (March) on the Discovery Channel. Looks so fascinating.
I simply can not wait to see this mini-series!!! I think I am going to fall deeper in love with nature with this documentary!
That was fucking amazing! While I'm usually a pretty light nature show person, every shot of the 2 parts last night was spectacular. I was practically planning a hiking trip during the mountains hour and during the ocean bit I was thinking "I WANT TO GO DIVING RIGHT FUCKING NOW!!" 2 parts that keep coming back to me were the snow leopard chase and when the hundreds of dolphins and the birds had that huge school of fish sandwiched 60 feet down. I can't wait for more next week, even if the locales sound a bit less interesting.
i recored the episodes id miss when i was working and watched them all today. i watch 3 episodes and it was amazing. the vibrant colors of the earths surfaces were awesome. i really enjoyed the mountain parts and the rain forest part. that bird dance was crazy. if i was a female bird that gets to see that, well damn i would not og flown away... heh
Damn, it occurs to me now that when I saw on my guide that it was on there might have been another part before it, so I didn't see a rainforest episode one way or the other.
i couldnt stop talking about it on monday in class. my history class listened to me talk about this boird mating thing and how cranes fly over mountains and how long of a journey it is. they didnt believe me when i said eagles try to eat them!!! cant wait for sunday
i was sooo excited to see this show and it is AMAZING!! Makes me wanna go on adventures EVEN MORE now!!
If you all like Planet Earth (how could you not), you should check out Blue Planet aswell, it's out on DVD and theres some episodes up on yutube aswell, It's made by the same people, it's basically Planet Earth set underwater, really amazing. Heres a clip of it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=W9Er4dpUfrM
I agree with Trix Bunny 100%! Definitely check out Blue Planet! And for that matter, after that, go back through David Attenborough's whole Life series! He's covered almost everything by now: - Life in the Undergrowth, about bugs (fucking amazing, seriously, especially the slug porn segment) - Life of Mammals - Life of Birds - The Private Life of Plants (you have to order it off Amazon UK - even Netflix doesn't have it - but it's wonderful and totally worth it)
yeah i loved it when i saw it on tv, downloaded it recently. i like how it makes even people who typically dont give a shit about nature realize how beautiful it really is.
And OH MY GOD! Life in Cold Blood is finally out! It's supposed to be his final series; he's like 88 now, and with this one (about reptiles and amphibians) he will have officially covered all life on earth. (This man is an international treasure, seriously.) You have to order it off amazon uk, which I just did. Holy shit, am I excited. I think I'm wet.
aww man i loved it!...i think stephen hawkins is SOOO coool..he's an AWSOME man and made anAWSOME documentary here..it was SOO wimsical and fasinating...(
