Sorry for reviving this long-dead thread, but I've been heavily into JA at the moment and wanted to give them some lovin'. :)

My favourite albums are After Bathing at Baxter's and Crown of Creation. And live at the Fillmore West, 10-26-1968. Fave songs are Lather, Rejoyce, Triad, White Rabbit, Last Wall of the Castle, A small Package of Value and the live jams like Bear Melt and Thing.

ive been heavily into them for a good while! glad to have someone to share an obsession with!

If you like live at the fillmore west, check out live at the fillmore east (im not sure of the date, but that's the name of the album) and also Bless Its Pointed Little Head - both are one of my favorite live albums

Ya, I know those. Bless its Pointed Little Head is in fact the only album of them that I have "in the flesh"... I'd love to buy more but I only rarely have money to spend on cds.

I used to be all over the Dead when it came to my daily 60s psychrock fix but lately I've been more into Airplane, because they're a bit more direct, a bit more song-orientated, a bit more uplifting, and its band members could actually sing (no offence Jerry).

    I love 'em all. :D

Have you heard The Great Society, Grace's band before JA? They're just as good, even though they only existed for a year or two (65-66). The first incarnations of Somebody to Love and White Rabbit were written when she was in this band. And I didn't expect much of it, but yeah, they really rock! [IMG]

Without a doubt Volunteers, "We Can Be Together" is one of my favorite songs of all time. "The Farm" also has a sort of feeling to it that really draws me in.
