why isn't this a household name? honestly, this man has produced some rediculously amazing albums, his stuff with the dire straits, his solo stuff, his duets with folks like chet atkins, really, just superb

 

MTV probably wasn't the best choice ever for him.

 

why man? that video is steller, so was that album, brothers in arms is one of the greatest things that happened to classic rock

 

Because most people have shitty taste in music.

 

I kinda thought he WAS a household name.... Dire Straights are pretty famous...

 

Indeed, he is a household name. Everyone who has some interest in (classic) rock, or just music in general, should heard of him by now.
