grrrrr! why can't british sailors stop violating other nations territorial borders?

I don't think this has made any impact on destroying relations between Britain and Iran, maybe on the face of it through the political bullshit shown on TV, showmanship and the odd word of anger. The soldiers were probably captured to use as negotiation for the Iranian diplomat Jalal Sharafi. I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't an understanding about situations like this one, after all it isn't the first time Iran have done this. The British soldiers couldn't, even after release, speak about how well they had been treat. An American general (I think) said himself that if they had been American soldiers they would have battled, whether this would be the case isn't of concern. The concern would be if they had been American and had been cpatured I think that a massive and potential catastrophic standoff would have happened without negotiation. So instead of this fading away into the chip shop like it has I guess we would be having daily news up dates about a critical situation in the middle east again with far greater destruction.

 

Repairing relationship with Iran is important as the more allies we have in the middle east, the more hope we can stabilise this apocalyptic region. We got no evidence to support the claim that Iran ambushed soldiers in Iraq in the latest explosion. I think Tony Blair should stop shouting and start engaging in peace talks. Sanctions should be brought as the message should go across that once a resolution is passed, it should NOT be broken. Rules are rules, I am sure they apply everywhere.

 

But your sanction on trade with the UK is ridiculous. It actually shows that you have no knowledge on this, if anything.
