Dutch consider 'magic' mushroom ban

The Netherlands, well known for its liberal policies on soft drugs like marijuana, may follow Ireland and ban the sale of hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Recently, a teenage tourist in the Netherlands died after jumping off a bridge during a trip.

The Irish government banned the sale and possession of hallucinogenic mushrooms under similar circumstances last year after a Dublin man fell to his death at a Halloween party in 2005.

Dutch Health Minister Ab Klink ordered a special study into the 'magic' mushrooms and their effects Tuesday. A majority of lawmakers in the Netherlands is in favour of a ban, according to the Dutch news agency ANP.

Both dried and fresh mushrooms can be bought freely in so-called 'smart shops' even though 'actively' dried mushrooms are technically illegal.

Amsterdam, the Dutch capital, has become an international tourist destination because of its tolerance for soft drug use and government-regulated coffee shops that legally sell small amounts of cannabis.

The main problem with the Netherlands now is Christian Democratic Appeal party. They are have such a backward conservative view on things and if they didn't win the majority of the chamber seats, soft drugs would already be legal by now! Fuck the goddamn Christian Democrat party and their fucking religious backwardness! They are for the end of toleration for soft drugs;

Even though this is one death, compared to the thousands and millions who die yearly from alcohol and tobacco. I suggest that every mushroom-lover contacts the Dutch government and point out this hypocrisy.

What is up with the world? It's getting more conservative and backwards! First the US with Bush, then UK with Blair, then Canada with Conservative Party, then Ireland and their health buerocrats, and now The Netherlands and the Christian Democrat Appeal!

 

Fuck it. My plan is to join the corporate monster, earn millions of dollars through wise investments, and purchase an island. And then do what the fuck I want there.

 

Because one person died, thats bogus, especially when you figure that theres way more alcohol related deaths.
