    Hey all,

Listening to the 7.21.91 show from upstate New York somewhere and I'm reminded how wonderful and pianist Paige is -- especially in the context of phish. He's not the most classically virtuosic player, but he knows how to play the right tonal chords for the songs. In "Lizards'" little jazzy section, his chords and arpeggios and rhythm are such a perfet fit for the song's light-hearted tone -- the same way his outro for "Coil" was perfect, the same way his keys on "YEM" were perfect.

Maybe that was one of the things that helped make Phish so wonderful -- they each played for the song, not for themselves (well, until trey took his guitar god persona a little too seriously).

agreed. Page is great and perfect for phish. Thats one of the great things about phish. All of the players fit perfectly together and all contribute such an important role. Page's new solo cd is pretty good too. Sounds alot more phishy than any of the other phish solo projects have imo.
