The reasoning is that they are using RFID chips and even mini camera's in their products.

unfortunatly RFID chips are popping up in all kinds of places these days. even the new $20 bills...if you throw them in a microwave, they'll explode in the middle.

    check this out as well....http://www.adsx.com/prodservpart/verichip.html

everything sold by wal-mart or target-essentially everything, will have RFID chips within a year.....its nothing to freak out about, it is essentially a warehouse management system, and the chips are used to simply track inventory.....the chips can only be read from a few feet away from the reader.....

i've worked with this technology before.

It's about baby steps. I used to manage a warehouse, so I too have experience with the technology. Have you read the story about the guy and his porch?

That's the wrong attitude to have, IMO. And, they can be tracked from further away than you think. But that's not the point. The point is that they're pushing this technology on us, which undoubtably will become more prevalent and advanced in the years to come, and will be far more obtrustive than we could even imagine it being now. This is a conditioning process.

It's not that you should be paranoid that you're being tracked when you buy Gillette products, but you're funding a major corporation that is responsible for this technology which someday will give you a real reason to be paranoid.

People should be refusing to shop at these retail stores that are refusing to rid themselves of the RFID's. There are millions of dollars in this government-sponsored technology, and when people blindly support it, those in power have even more power to do what they want.

    e-x-a-c-t-l-y.

There's heaps more to it, than just being freaked out by Gillette products...it's everything that comes AFTER that. You said it perfectly, Rat.

    you guys are overly paranoid.

try to think, what would they really want to use this for...this isn't the kind of thing that could be implanted in a persons body, the chip needs to be on the surface of the case or bottle etc. It just contains product or batch info which is transmitted back to the reader....people were saying the same thing about barcodes.

Why not protest the magnetic strip on the back of your drivers license, its capable of containing much more information.

believe me, I've experimented with this technology in a warehouse, you can't get reads with much accuracy outside of about 3 feet.

If you aren't going to buy products with these chips, you aren't going to be buying products

One day a man ran up to Bob's door and started banging on it.

"Let me in! I'm taking your house! Get out!"

    Bob shot the man.

Two days later a man walks up on to Bob's porch and says,
"Hey I heard about that guy who tried to take your house, I'm really sorry to hear it, I tell you what, I'm gonna stand outside on the sidewalk, just to make sure no one bothers you again."

The next day, the man tells Bob,
"You know, from out on the sidewalk, I can't really see your house and the road at the same time, so what I'm gonna do is sit on the steps in front of the porch, that way no one can sneak in behind me."

The next week, the man tells Bob,
"Last night, I think I saw someone inside your house, so what you're gonna need to do is leave the blinds open all the time, so I can make sure no one is gonna harm you."

The next week, the man tells Bob,
"I heard something on the other night, so I think I should move up a little further, probably just on to the porch, I want to make sure you're not in any danger."

The next month, the man tells Bob,
"I've been told, that the man who you shot, his family is gonna try to take revenge on you, so what I'm gonna do for you, is stand just inside the front door, to protect you."

The next month, the man tells Bob,
"I've been told that they may try to poison you, so what I'm gonna do, is try all your food for you, so you don't get poisoned, I'll be right here on the couch when you want dinner, let me know."

The next year, the man tells Bob,
"I've been told that your house is no longer safe for you, so if you could just pack up, were gonna move you to a safer location..."

    Dig?

That story about the guy on the porch is a good one. I am for sure not going to buy any Gillette products now.
