Fedora's a good system, it works well for my computer illiterate uncle!
Ubuntu seems to be the daddy right now though.
    I'm just a lazy slacker!

ps. anyone tried xandros desktop4? installed it and it looks very professional :)

i never got into the xandros thing. i would say Ubutnu is the maturing child, Debian is the granddaddy, as for the daddy it is probably Gentoo/Suse/Rehat/Slackware (but not in that order).

the reason i say Ubuntu is the maturing child is because it is newer and very refined. it is like the succesful child that will go on to be a millionaire and have 10 kids.

(and sentient, i dont think i have ever had an error in Fedora Core 6; maybe a couple in FC4)

Fedora and redhat arent intelligent enough to recover once they go up the swannee
Fedora just bugs me, theres notyhing else to it I just find it an immensely irritating distro to work with. It may have a loit to do with the fact I just quit smoking thos and havent had a cigarrette for two months and no nicotene gum for 4 days

fedora was very buggy especially anaconda which would error and reboot at the slightest provocation. The other thing is that if you try to alter the existing setup and add in more software it errors out. I know why I stopped using it all those years ago now.
Suse is much cleverer and its all free anyway, the only thing you could possibly pay for is updates to its enterprise server (the proprietry bits), and their phone help desk

INCASE ANYONES INTERESTED - theres a beryl video here
