Are your clothes all highend brandnames; or do you consider them the most practical way to cover your nakedness? Does your jacket have sequins and fringes; or are their burn holes up and down the front of your favorite shirt? Is your vehicle meant to go from point A to point B; or do you have carpet on the dash and fuzzy dice hanging from the rearview? ^ (not that there's anything wrong with it)
Somewhere in the middle. I don't have a lot of clothing or "stuff", but when I do buy something, I try to buy high-quality. I never pay full price and get 99% of my wardrobe at Ross or Goodwill. My car is a '93 Nissan Sentra that I bought for $500 from my cousin. It runs great and gets pretty good gas mileage. I guess that pretty much sums it up for me.
mix of expensive and cheap brands. i go into all stores, i never buy things cos of a label, i only look at the clothes. a lot of times i find things i love but don't buy because they are so damn expensive sometimes i find some awsome things at the markets and 2nd hand stores. im partial to certain styles, i like funky street stuff. one of my favourite stores is the urban store. my favourite jackets have hoods, zips and look like bomber jackets with buttons and ripped material and such. i have a few of those
I hate fashion. I hate clothes. I wear Levis, though I could wear Wrangler and not give a shit. I really hate clothes and people whose lives revolve around style. Makes me sick. To think there are some idiots out there who would pay $300 for a pair of jeans is just ridiculous. These Abercombie and Fitch types make me sick. Fucking poseurs.
I wear levis because I like the stitching on the back pockets. I understand its no less a fashion statement than people that will only wear sean john or the like, so I try not to be too judgemental.
I don't own any big brand named (Hmm... maybe a gap jacket or two, yet Gap is far from "brand name").... but I love to dress up, but that's only because I'm hot.
clothing is to me, primarily something to be worn to keep from being arrested for not wearing it. and thus something, the less spent on, the more there is available, of what little there is, to be invested in means and mechanisms of creativity or at least mobility. i do have particular inclinations as to what appearances i find aesthetic. branding, and the austentation that goes with it, i see as contributing nothing to them, nor to any sense of gratification. which again, gratification, for me at least, being a matter of creating and exploring. creating especialy to share with the world my visions of what we could all be enjoying if our collective thoughtlessness of trying to impress each other wasn't screwing us out of. =^^= .../\...
its a mix...i have some nice high end jeans from polo and sean john, along with some polo shirts...but i also have lots of clothes from Kohls and then there are times i just wear sweat pants and a white t-shirt. i have clothes i can get dressed up nice in and others i like to chill in. but i buy on sale or discount, so i don't spend... its hard finding clothes that fit good, especially pants...the style for pants does not cater to the athletic build....fucking low rise sissy shit for guys does not do well with me
In between. I usually buy higher quality clothing (it lasts longer, able to hold up better through frequent washings, making it worth the money spent!), but never pay full price for it. I always watch the sales and search through the clearance ranks, then I pounce. For the record, neither my family nor I own anything with fringe. Sequins, yes, my daughter and I have a few things with those.
quality and name seldom bear the relationship imputed to them by those who profit from doing so. =^^= .../\...
I fall largely in this camp. I don't shop much by when I do, there is always something better and cheaper if you do a little digging. I buy highend cars, but they are always used, since the moment the drive off the dealers lot, their value is cut in half. They may have all the bells and whistles but no extraneous crap - spoilers, stickers, bras, brake covers, spinning hubcaps, etc. - no fucking way.
My clothes are pretty dull. I wear plain old blue jeans and band shirts every day, basically...sometimes I'll whip out a polo shirt or something, but I mostly stick to the t-shirts.
I have a little of everything. I have some Abercrombie/Hollister stuff, but none of its new. It was bought about a year ago and I hardly wear it. Doesn't really fit my taste anymore, haven't gone in those stores in forever. And then i have clothes from goodwill. I've recently started going there more, theres always something there i like. They always have good skirts, jeans that i always cut and make into something new, and tons of other random stuff. And then i have stuff in between. Alot is from my favorite 60s store downtown, and then i also have tons and tons of band tshirts, tons of Beatles shirts, and quite a few pairs of jeans/capris. And my car is a '99 honda, nothing big, i saved up for it for a long time, finally bought it from a family friend once i got my license. They gave it to me very cheap, for a lot less than its worth, and i love it.
I go for comfort, functionality, and durability... and a reasonable price. Name brand stuff is ok if it's cheap, comfortable, durable, and has decent pocketing. Otherwise I'll go elsewhere to find something that is. The only exception to cost is safety gear, like say leather gear and helmet for a motorcycle, or a nomex racing suit (when I have money for a race car )... As far as vehicles go I have a thing for classics and retro styled machines that go fast, but again cheapness and functionality are more important than anything else. No matter how beat up it is when I buy it I could make a pile of scrap metal run with enough work
I think I do like better quality clothes, but I'll always buy on sale And I drive a vw bug ~ the new one...
Im not keen on clothes either. Just someting for outdoors to keep others happy. I wear the very basics, stuff that will last a long time (i hardly ever buy clothes) and looks ok. No brands though
Emmm...I am a broke poor college student and I like to thrift store shop only. I am only interested in the comfiest of apparal. I secretly am in love with Hollister's clothing, but I cant afford it to justify buying it in any way. My younger sister is 100% involved with her interest in fashion, and therefore I steal her clothes when I want to look spiffy and not scrubby
i LIKE to 'shop' when i can afford it. clothing is NOT what i like to shop FOR! train stuff, computer stuff, hardware store stuff, even the less common sort of grocery stuff. that's what i prefer to save on clothes so i can spend on. every penny the cost of clothing robs me of being able to spend on what i'd prefer i deeply resent. =^^= .../\...
