I have noticed that where ever I go these days, there are so many mirrors. In the home, In stores and restaurants, In the workplace. There are many full length mirrors everywhere, so we get a constant reflection of ourselves many times a day. I think most people are too preoccupied with their appearance, and maybe if we turned some of these mirrors around, especially at home, we could be happier and less obsessed with ourselves and the way we look. When I have housesat for others who have mirrors, I covered them up. I just couldn't get accustomed to seeing myself every time I turned around. (I started making weird faces-I felt a little crazy). I have never had a full length mirror in my home, and only have hand held mirrors for rare occasions. I only see myself once a week in the store windows in town, and that is enough for me. What do you think ?
Yeah, I noticed one thing from all of those mirrors .. I'm not too crazy about the little bald spot I see in the back. (sob) Time marches on, but I refuse to accept the conventional wisdom to wear my hair super short or do a Bruce Willis buzz.
Depends on my mood... If I'm going out I like a quick peek... but if I'm staying in it drives me crazy... I moved into my moms old room after my brother and I were going crazy sharing a room...he's 20...and she has one of those vanity mirrors above her dresser....I can't ever enter/exit my room without seeing myself and it's driving me nuts and making me too conscious of how I look... leave the mirrors in the bathroom... even in the hallway by the girl's bathroom at my school we have a full length mirror and its like every group of girls fav hangout lol its crazy... but a mirror does make my room seem larger and the room have a "through the looking glass" feel to it... Idk...ups and downs...
you're right. Just in my room I have a full length mirror on my door, a big mirror, and a makeup mirror with lights that flips around and magnifies everything (it is the devil.)...not to mention the 5 or so handheld mirrors I have. and every room except the kitchen has a mirror in it in my house.
I love to stare at myself in mirrors, I can do so for hours... I always seem to forget what I look like, and then I catch myself in the mirror... and just wow... ya know... this is me.
But I thought that hippie's couldn't see their reflections? What's that? Really? Not hippies?? Vampires? Never Mind. Move along.. nothing to see here. (they are snappy dressers though... a simple mistake).
I really only look in the mirror when I am attacking zits or trying on new clothes. Other than that I don't realy look at myself to much. I like my hair messy.
i think looking into mirrors can make the person freak out !! cuz it can b a disease the person will search 4 bad thing in his apperance ..( just like my sis ! she's a mirrors freak ! ) i only look into mirror if i wanna fix something wrong in me like my clothes or hair..but sometimes i 4get 2 check on myself ..then something bad looks like ..i c myself in a world biggest mess !! it's not a beautiful scene 4 any1 :\ but i think ppl who look @ mirrors many times have some confidence issue about themselves ... thank good i'm not 1 of them ...cuz i know i look fine & beautiful all the time ^^
I only really look into the mirror to see if I have anything on my face or if I have something in my teeth. I DO want to look presentable. Other than that, I basically avoid mirrors. I don't really care about what my hair looks like or if the bags under my eyes are especially terrible that day or whatever.
I saw your paintings and I think they are wonderful, very emotional. Too many mirrors give negative energie.Be alert!
