Fruit Picking jobs in California???

    :) Anyone know if its easy to get a fruit picking job in California in early feb. to march---and how i could contact a fruit farmer to get one.
    any help would be appreciated

    i feel i should know the answer to this one.. theres tons of orchards and field around here.. guess you'd just have to go and ask the boss for a job..

    what fruets are you specialised in?..why does it have to be fruets?

    i have done some harvesting, but never out west. i would definately suggest going to an organic farm because there is slightly less pollitics involved and generally safer and nicer people. blueberries apples and strawberries tend to be the best money. it is also a good idea to call a few months in advance to make sure you get on a crew. you will generally camp while you work, so prepare for that lifestyle. it was easiest for me when i had a VW bus as aposed to hitching into town, because i had a dry place to sleep when weather hit, and so many people needed rides that i would have gas money covered.

    its california.
    trust me, theres enough orchards for you to pick fruit all year.
