Money.. well it's good. I mean, you need it for food, clothes, shelter etc... basic neseseties. But of course, I think we could get better ways to do so. I can't think of any.. but.. still. Anyways I do like it but large amounts I think are useless.
Never have enought of it But despite what we personally think almost all of the world uses coin and note and it would be unlikely that they would all would abandon it in favour of a fair soceity where everyone gets what they need. Its just not gonna happen.
I think reading Walden (h.d.thoreau) has changed my thinking about money. in a nutshell i was struck with his criticism that possessions encumber you. hold/weigh you down to a place, to obligations, to managing your possessions...
personally, if i could do without money, i would. unforunately that's not the way the world goes.. i just need money to do what i gotta do. i wouldn't want a lot of money, just causes more stress and drama that i do not need. ill just be happy living in a big old house with tons of land =)
Other than having the Internet in modern times, primitive tribal life in a warm climate, with lots of wild fruits and vegetables is the number one way to live - without money, jewelry, automobiles, airconditioning, heating, and without clothing!
I agree!!! I utterly DESPISE money, I believe it is the root of all evil, I shun materialism and materialists as well. Like you I owe this change in thinking to good ol' Henry David....
tells me you won't be filling a gas tank anytime soon ;( of all the people in this forum here, have any of you ever HAD or MADE a significant sum of money? (also i actually read Waldon commuting to NYC to work).. worked there for several years.. i'm currently unemployed after working over 17 (at one company)... and now i'm reflecting.. Walden, always in the back of my head. I gave up a 6 figure salary for a chance for change. moving from nj to the midwest now... grabed some land and gonna dig some holes to grow something.. hopefully for money, but whatever -- im not interested in a 'career' again. i tell my wife, our next stop is central america... f usa.
despite popular belief you dont need money to survive. im still not sure how but when i was on the road i went months without earning or asking for a dime. being broke isnt going to kill ya, i always had what i needed, it seems whatever force generating the present moment recognizes basic human needs, and will provide. at least it did for me. money is okay by me as long as i have none or i have enough to live comfortably, scraping by with bills to pay sucks worse than being homeless imo. money is a comfort level...it was empowering for me to let go of my comforts for a while, i learned how to smile and be trully happy with absolutely nothing.
i dont care for it. in a perfect society, who needs it. i dont really have much of it, its not too hard to get. but even so, i dont really find it solves my problems when i have it. its great for stuff like food, but then again, food is usually readily available anyway. i suppose it comes in handy when i need cigarettes. but i find, having money usually leads to needing more money. if i could just do without cash altogether, ide probably be much better off.
You have to have money nowadays. You can't get anything without money and I think it's terrible. If you want to help somebody he/she asks your money and not your real help.
I hate it... seriously! I can't get a working saxophone because of it. However, I see the reasoning for it. I hate really do hate it, but perhaps it's a necessary evil. I mean what would people work for otherwise?
i hate money when it makes ppl so greed & selfish ..they become so criminal !!! i love money when i get it by a descent way & enjoy it by buying the things that i need ^^ i think my money is enough 4 me ..i get it from my college every month ..also from the summer job
unfortunately I need of money but I hate it because are the cause of the war and in generally the riches are silly.
Having money does not make you happy, but lack of it can make you really miserable. It sure is a necessary evil, but it's also the one of the most important factors of organizing the world...I don't make any money right now, but I plan to because of one simple reason : I don't want frustrations caused by not having it.
