    I don't really, but I guess it's better than the 2000s.

The nineties were great fun, but I don't see why it's better then the present. You're probably romanticizing again right?

Heres a little excerpt from Wikipedia, that sums up my memory of the 90s.

The dominant youth clothing fad in the early 1990s was fluorescent or neon clothing, which became popular in 1989. Fluorescent clothing was associated with cool, summer themes like surfing and the beach. The fluorescent colours were blue, green, orange, pink, yellow, and purple. Fluorescent clothing was especially popular with teenage and pre-teen girls, but fluorescent t-shirts and shorts were also popular with boys.

except i have to disagree about 90s music.. it just straight pisses me off.. like matchbox 20

I definately recall being 6, and wearing every single article of clothing, socks included,a different neon colour. I explained to my mother that I preferred to be colourful. I ate my words when I became a wee little goth girl in grade nine haha

I mean, what's less great now? Maybe mainstream music and stuff was slightly better then, and the grunge scene (if you liked that).

    i miss the simplelism of the 90s ( i don't know if it's the right word 2 use ! )
but when i watch my home videos about the things we used 2 do in the 90s i wish from the bottom of my heart 2 go back 2 those days !
we were so stupider than now :D but @ the same time smarter ..i mean we used 2 think without depending on so much technology ,,but what can we say it's the new milinum !! we're lucky 2 live in this century ..nobody can ! specially the deads :p

Well yeah, I agree. But that's not typical for the nineties, but typical for our teenage years.

Although I don't really like the 'main stream' now.. (except the rocky/pop stuff) I really didn't like it back then.. I mean.. I loved the Backstreet Boys... :leaving: OMG

Uh, isn't the mainstream mainly 'rock' and pop?

I find nowadays mainstream music as interesting as in the nineties. Mainly not my cup of tea :). Same with grunge and the coming of alternative rock in the nineties by the way. But I do dig the coming of drum 'n bass, psytrance and trip hop though, and of course the recovery of good rock, that all came up in the nineties and are still around.
But not only musicwise, generally I also don't see recession. Both decades have their good and bad things and this one hasn't even ended yet. :)

I think the rap stuff was even better back then...I remember loving "gangsta's paradise"

Oh gawd gummy shoes! blisters... >_<

I was a big backstreet boy fan too when I was younger, but I also had many diff types of music I liked... it was all more unique...the stuff on the radio these days all sounds the same...though the stuff back then was lame, whenever I hear it on the radio it sounds so simple and good... like "karma police" "zoot suit riot" " "the way" "sex and candy" "fly away" and thats just 1998 I think...
    i love grunge a lot too ^_^

I'm sick of Ipods and cell phones too...
