they do look strangely comfortable don't they? one of my friends lived in one once. only problem was bathing. he just did it every few days at a friend's house. basically mine.
Ive THOUGHT of it too, seems it would be real peacefull and minimalist. I figure a matress, water cooler, lantern and a bunch of books would be perfect.
It's probably not an impossible dream to pursue. You could simply rent one and stay in there without telling anyone - and as long as you were smart about it, you'd probably get away with it. I'm also sure that plenty of U-Store-It owners would be happy to allow someone to stay in the box for a few extra bucks a month. It has an interesting sort of cozy, minimalist appeal to it.
I too have thought about it many times. I saw an episode on TV (Can't remember which show) where all these husbands were staying at this storage place to get away from their wives. They had all their old bachelor stuff there, hiding out.....lol wish I could remember which show it was. Maybe King of Queens, or Everybody Loves Raymond....something like that.
