I think related to that point is the fact that Music Promoters (w/e) dont actually want amazing music. They want horrible cheap sounding stuff like the streets because it 'sells' to the braindead simplistic generation. At least this is the case in England. There are many great local bands scaterred around who wont get signed for these reasons - they are too good !!

i think that people mistake rap music with 'mainstream cheap sellout musician cant even have your voice unaltered wanna be famous please please lyke totally'...music. ..yeah. haha..

anyway so what if its mainly about making money. when they get their money its just so they can look flyyy and get bitches. at least they're not trying to get all the oil they can and blowing up innocent countries.
    everyones havin fun

    they're a lot like hippies..only in a very different way :D

not gonna bother to read what everyone else said so if i repeat something, sorry. I think that people think of rap as what they see on mtv, etc, etc. and also you gotta take it at face value...its made by people who lived in shitholes, did what they could to make some loot and then made music about selling drugs, banging chicks, gettin fucked up and goin to the club...it aint meant to be insightful and now rappers got money so they rap about cars and shit...i can understand if it aint for you, that you just cant listen to it...i hate disco shit...but to say that rap sucks as an entire music genre is just ignorant

Im guessing you dont know shit about much of anything. Your dead wrong on "no talent". I now know your talent is being ignorant. Good rap is truely amazing. You being ignorant dont know this. The talent some music artists have is incredible. I give them much respect for lots of things they do. By reading your post im guessing you have a good education and think its important. Thats cool and i agree, but your fucking retarted on this subject and have none.

The rap on mtv sucks and its shallow.

But there is some good stuff out there that you don't hear on the radio.

    Worst lyrics ever:
"I'm hot 'cause I'm fly, you ain't cause you not"

Why is rock good? Lyrics doesn't always make the song. Rock and rock 'n roll had some pretty lousy lyrics too, but it doesn't matter if it sounds great. Be bop a lula!

It's still a matter of diggin it though.

For me, it's the music I like firstly. Then, how much I like a rapper is by how much sense he/she is making to me.

Like Asmodean said, you've got to dig it.

Rap Is Good Cuz People Like Chamillionaire And Kanye West Make It Good. They Give You Something To Listen To And Relate To.

See, these are the kinds of people that listen to rap . How can you relate to them? They talk about shagging their hos and getting rich through fighting and complete trash normally.

Enlighten me - tell me how you relate to these people. To me, they come across as arrogant and insincere idiots and I'm sure you're not like that.
