When. Does a perceptual schematic become consciousness. When Does a difference engine become a search for truth. When Does a personality simulation become the bitter mote of a soul. the wonderful picture of the sad clown is Emmet Kelley (sp). Born in a small town not to far from here. This has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the thread but is a nice recogition of the fact that the world and existance is and can be more that what we ask for at first.
Emmett Kelley was born in Sedan Kansas which is a little nowhereburg on US 166 east of Witchita. he was always the sad faced clown and peformed alone instead of with a "troup of clowns" which is common in circuses. One of his last performances on the Carol Burnett show he performed his signiture ending by "sweeping up the spot light" and then fade to black. In a real sense that is what we all do and even though his act was aligory, we all still live the last act, put out the light and fade to black. The rest of the stuff is either icing on the cake or stuffing in the pillow and what determines what is just your personality and point of view. I have huge respect for you Occum and i realize that a lot of what you do here is to inspire thought and debate in others. Don't get too wrapped up in it though. the end for you is the same end we all share...the mystery of oblivion...when the spot light is gone and the darkness is upon us.
Bamboo Well thanks.. thats a nice honest answer. Occam tries not to get to wrapped up in it but he despairs for the lost potential of children. Lives that could be are crushed beneath the boots of the greedy and ignorant. And occam is looking forward without fear to..'the end' Its a no loss equation. Anti entropy.. If there is oblivion occam has had a life and now does not exist to mourn it's end [as if he would] If there is more, then cool, will take it as it comes. Maybe a life of a generalist will come in handy. All up occam has gained. He did not ask to exist, he did not earn it's inception. Yet he does exist and soon he wont. ITS ALL A GIFT.
