The virtual homegrown concept of Tom Green's web show is building an awareness in the world of independent broadcasting. No sponsors (yet). I know this has been going on for a while, especially with streaming independent radio, but now full-on live and uncensored video feeds are a very accessible reality. He's the first semi-celebrity I've heard of doing this. Probably why it's getting so much attention. It definitely helps to live in Hollywood and have a name in the industry. None the less, he's exploring new ground. We may look back at this as "the good old days" when freedom of speech still existed. It's all user content. Virtual Wiki-Journalism. The web gives us all a voice. I guess it just depends on how clever you are in using the medium to get heard or seen. Unfortunately there's a massive ocean full of watered down fish that are drowning each other out. It's a contemporary catch 22. For now, select your media... um... carefully.
