...when you are high? what do you read?

I like to read Philosophical and Psychological literature... stuff like B.F. Skinner, Jung, Emmanuel Kant, bible, Koran, buddhist teachings, Henry David Thoreau, that kinda stuff.

do you guys enjoy reading at all when you're high?

I'll attempt to read and then realize after about 20 pages that I have just been looking at the words, not reading/retaining them. This usually happens when I'm reading for school, regardless if I am stoned. I like reading poems while I'm high though, they are short enough usually to have my full attention. Favorite book is Kerouac's "Some of the Dharma". Lots of haiku's, scribbles and crazy thoughts.

I go through stages. For weeks all I'll want to do when I'm high is read, then for a while I won't even be able to get through a sentence each time a pick up a book.

I like to read poetry, and books on spirituality and religion. I also like reading long, detailed novels when I'm stoned. Lately at night I've been reading a book of Alaskan tales after a smoke. Not too bad, though kind of boring.

My favorite thing to read when I'm stoned is my old journals, especially my old stoner diaries. I still haven't finished reading the stoner diaries though...because most of what they're full of is stuff that I found bizarre and profound, so when I go back and reread, I always get sidetracked by these bizarre and profound thoughts.

I wish i could have the focus + will power to read when im high, but i just cant. I land up zoning out and thinking of something offtopic to only leave me staring at the text while my mind is wondering to a differant place.

yeah I have started both and never finished, I have a bad habit like that when it comes to books. Then by the time I want to read again I have to start over to get back the information. But I think those books would inspire some deep thinking while high or tripping or something (If you can understand the words at least)

Books are hard to understand sometimes, though - I once tried to do my social studies notecards.. oooh that was rough.. reading, comprehending, and summarizing what I read.

I forgot to mention I do like my Vonnegut.. and I have finished the couple of those I have read. Cat's Cradle is great.

I actually cannot read when I'm high. I really wish I could, but I just can't seem to read with enough comprehensiveness, so I usually read sober then smoke and think about whatever it is I read, if I still remember it.
