(sigh) I think my daughter is going to need to see an orthodontist. She is FINALLY losing her first tooth, (7 years 2 months) but it's coming out because the adult tooth has surfaced & is PUSHING it out of the way!

Can you see it on the bottom? Do you think there's ANY way that's gonna grow up to where it belongs on its own? And does anyone know of a kinder, gentler approach to teeth-straightening? I'd love to hear of it, if you do!

alot of the time after all the braces and retainers you use thoughout childhood. when you're an adult they just get crooked again also the reason children have crookeder teeth when they are younger is because their mouth is smaller for the most part they will straighten out once they get older

i had a similar thing happen when i was 7. my canine baby teeth had not fallen out and the adult ones were coming in infront of them. i had all my baby canines pulled to try to make room. the new teeth sorta moved back to where theyre suposed to be, but i still ended up with top canines that stick out like vampire teeth lol. i like them though. i dont know about your daughters situation, but i think braces are often a waste of a lot of money. just see what her dentist says, maybe they will want to pull some of her teeth too. it would be better than braces, i think.

Hmm, I'm not getting braces for my daughters. When dd1's first adult tooth came in, it was massively crooked-almost sideways. As the surrounding teeth came out, it straightened up. She's 8 now and has 8 adult teeth and while her upper front two look huge for her little head (I love that look in kids!) she will grow into them. I really don't believe in messing with teeth placement.

Now, a friend's son had an extra tooth come through the roof of his mouth so that needed to go, but braces just for straightening? Nah.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about Sugarmag... this is coming in practically on the floor of her mouth. I've seen some pretty crooked teeth straighten themselves, but this is SO low in the jaw I'm having a tough time seeing how it can possibly make its way up to where it belongs.
