About how deep do you plant seeds? I got those little peat disiks that work great for forming root balls.
10 mm aka 1cm yah , i just recdived my order, with it 40 peat pellets. theyre great for seeds and clones so hold on to those man
I've used the peat pellets, or jiffy pellets, in the past. In US measurements I think its a half inch deep. I was thinking the other day, and I know soil acidity can make a plant male. Peat and those pellets are highly acidic, could that contribute to more males than females?
Soil acidity can kill a plant but I have never heard of it being an influencing factor on the plant's gender. usually its a 50/50% deal. If it was me I would use a rockwool cube. Soak it in pH adjusted water (not to determine sex but so the seedling lives) and plant the seed, a seed's length deep. Keep them warm and moist but not soaking.
All 3 of them sprouted, 2 going along nicely, one not so much but might recover. They sprouted in 3 days and have grown to a height of about 3-4". I'm excited!
I simply stuck a sharpened pencil in the depth of the bare wood, and two days later, My sprouts are 2 1/2 inches tall. Expect a pic soon. Oh! I used the sandwich bag and wet paper towel method to germinate the two seeds.
