Amen to that, gotta love some Janis!

Plus, she once hit Jim Morrison over the head with a whiskey bottle and knocked him out for getting too friendly with her. Just the image cracks me up hehehe

i watched janis joplin on the "dick cavett show", which is a dvd that focuses mainly on the big musicans that were on his show, janis came on 3 times. I never knew how much of an intriging person she was, so loveable! plus seeing her sing is actually rather powerful, i never knew much or really cared enough about janis joplin to listen to her till i saw that. Its fun to watch if you ever get the chance

i would like to see the bio as well, seems interesting

My fave TV appearance by Janis was on the Tom Jones Show, they did Raise Your Hand together. Very funky tune, and it sounds great with the two of them, both with such strong voices.

    good stuff!

Oh, man was SHE something! It is only now, that Janis Joplin is getting the long overdue recognition she deserves as one of the all time great blues/rock performers. She makes the current bunch of female artists who like to think they are 'at the ege' look like the pussies they are......and no female has ever come close to her stunning vocal ability. It is said that only male rock singers ever attempted to mimic her on stage presence/performance, no female singers then had the ability or the bottle. Look - and listen! - to early Robert Plant. Sheer Janis!
