I had my nose pierced with a gun first time round and it went in wonky and I couldn't remove it myself. I let it heal up and had it done again at a reputable place where they did it with a needle. Learnt my lesson but I'm so glad I didnt have to learn it throug hcracked cartilidge etc.

Things arn't b.s. just because you personally haven't experienced them it just means you were lucky.

Yeah, really; what is it with all these Doubting Thomas types online these days?

I am so pig sick of answering a question, only to then have my answer called 'bullshit', simply because the other poster is ignorant to what I have said. If people don't want to hear answers they might not like, they should cease asking questions about things they'd sooner be ignorant about...

I've had my cartilage pierced five times already with the gun, and I've had no problems at all. Maybe it just was luck, but I'll probably continue getting pierced with the gun, unless I decide to go some where with the needle. All I can say is that it's up to you. If you want to risk with the gun, go ahead, if you want the needle, go ahead. ^-^

ok take it from a piercer. piercing with a gun is stupid. its cheap and well all kinds ofthings can go wrong. just read some of the post above and you've got a good list. think of it this way. you have a solid dull pointed object, pushing its way thorugh a sponge. it will tunnel, and push things to the side, cause pain that lingers due to your ear getting pissed off at having to change to make room for something. a hollow surgical grade sterilized needle... its hollow when pushed in to something it doesn't push things outta the way, what would be if using a gun, goes intothe needle, the ear doesn't have anything pushed off to the side to deal with and doesn't have to heal more than the hole. make sense? needles are only used once, ( they should be anyways report any body that doesn't) can be chemically, heat or other wise sterilized, when used properly there is less chance of catching something you deffinatly dont' want. besides needles are faster, safer, more dead on. you can't go wrong.

I had my first cartilage piercing done on the streets of Venice by some old man with a piecing gun (not the smartest moment of my life, but it was about 10 years ago). I had my industrial done a few years ago with a needle, didn't hurt to get it pierced but was sore for almost a year after when sleeping on it or if I accidentally knocked it. I debated taking it out but after all the pain I went through I kept it just to show it who's boss. :]

when i was young and naive about peircings i had my cartilage done with a gun. it was fine, but it didnt heal well and it i do have a sorta bump on the back of my ear, i guess where it pushed the cartilage down a bit. its fine now, but i definitley wish i had it done with a needle.

out of all my peircings, only one has been done with a gun and that was the first one i ever got. IMO its a waste of money and, as everyone else has said, the are unhygenic and can cause problems and shit. take it out and redo it with a safety pin lol
