Yesterday I got some Renova in Mexico because my doctor will not give me a perscription for it. The pharmacy I went to is a pretty reputable one and the Renova is clearly authentic. It burnt really bad when I put it on. I took it off right away but am wondering if that is normal and should I just deal with it? Retin A did the same thing to me.
Yeah topical retinoids just burn. It's probably fine, but do an overnight spot test first before using it all over your face just to be safe. And use a really thin layer.
Ok I'll toughen up! I'll put some on like my shoulder or something tonight just to see. That is awesome advice. Thank you
You're welcome. If your skin is still really sensitive to it then apply it over a light moisturizer--camellia or jojoba oils are excellent for this.
It also says that you are not supossed to use it if you use tanning beds. Do you think that means just don't put it on while your taning or don't tan at all?
You know I prob wouldn't need the renova if I didn't tan, but I can't tan with the renova. How funny is that?
retin a burned me real bad. I know I am male, but I am just saying, retin a made me burn under florescent lights...
Retinoids make the skin SUPER sensitive to the sun, even if you only use the treatment at night. So I'd advise you strongly to stay out of tanning beds while using the Renova unless you want a really painful sunburn. Have you tried any fake tanning cremes?
Yeah and I don't like them ):. I used to mystic tan too after going in the bed and I hated the appreance of it. I love being in the sun. Maybe this stuff isn't for me and my doctor was right. I just have these little lines on my forhead that I hate!
I know, I love being in the sunshine too. Are you only applying the treatment to your face? If so, then just wear a good strong sunblock if you're going to be in the sun, and physically cover your face if you're going to be in a tanning bed.
if your doctor said it wasn't for you there is probably a reason for that. probably because you tan you cannot use it if you tan. also lines are normal especially if you are a habitual tanner
So today I went tanning and did what Elle said, just covered my face. My face didn't burn at all but then I put my hands on my boobs and chilled and the top of my hands are super burned! It's a bummer! ):
LOL sorry for laughing but...do you have hand-shaped tan lines on your chest now? Ouch, get some aloe on those hands and wear sunblock next time.
No, I only tan nude about once a month. I usually wear panties and a tank top just because cancer runs in my family. It is kind of funny though. It's really funny.
hah...I was wearing a bra/tank top thing and was feeling myself up over it...come on you've seen how big my boobs are and how small my hands are
