...early this year. I think we are going to have a nice long summer as officially summer ends after around september. So just wondering what people are doing to soak up the rays and what ya ideal place to be is?

For me it has to be Greenwich. At low tide you can walk along the pebbles and catch a few tan. Then of course Greenwich park. Yesterday it was packed with sunbathers. personally I would go some place up the hill.

If I'm in the UK, it has to be Devon and Cornwall. However, I like to get on a few road trips during the summer, aswell as going to the usual festivals and freeparties.

Another place I found was west thamesmead/Belmarsh. It is a nice walk toward Erith but just before you get around the corner, a little lighthouse at the point of peninsula is the best place. YOu get wind both directions sometimes and it feels like you are at the seaside. A ride on Woolwich ferry can be a cool experience.

I'm gonna try and head up north at some point this year..definately going to Alton towers in October, best time of year to go as there's hardly any people around.

Summer has indeed arrived...And seems Spring didn't even get a look in!

Locally we enjoy beer gardens, football and walks around greener locations. Finchale Abbey, Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island. I like to take in a music festival through the summer. And my Mam lives over in the north-west and we've always enjoyed going camping and exploring Windermeer and Coniston and whatnot.

We had our first football game of the summer yesterday in fact. But it all ended in injury! No more than 15 mins into the kick around, I hoof the ball right into someone's face. Accidentally of couse. But this came after earlier in the day (in a beer garden) I again accidentally kneed someone in the head!

So two sore heads and one sore knee was the outcome of our summer fun yesterday.

The Big Green Gathering was my ideal place to be last summer, so I'm looking forward to that again this year...

Otherwise cycling through bluebell woods along the south downs is a pretty good place to be during this kind of weather!

Spring is over. Notice how the daffodils are completely dead (Walked through a park yesterday and saw a sea of dead daffodils. They didn't stand a chance) and of course a lot of tree's have gone through the bud stage and are in leaf and flower stage. Spring is determined by the awakening of plants, wildlife and neanderthals (Us) from the bleak winter. What has happened is spring has been relatively short and due to early summer temperatures, this has affectively sped up the spring stage and so now spring is complete. Unofficially this is summer. It has come early this year. Another sign of global climate changes. Expect a long drawn out summer this year with which autumn will be late and winter won't start until early December. So to all the chips and chippettes out there, get your shorts and t shirts on and make this a summer you will remember. They say this summer will be the hottest since 1988.

Though there is little evidence that Man is responsible for global changes. If we look back in time, we can see that at one time, winter's were so harsh, the thames would freeze. Of course temperatures began to rise and this has affected the current climate. The climate is always changing and I believe our Co2 emissions cause little affect. Did you know the ocean throws out Carbon emissions and that naturally in the atmosphere co2 has been there for years. However Cfc has proved damge to the ozone layer but is banned in many countries from USSR to the Federal republic of Germany including Britain and the USA

    Haha, I'm not honestly!

I feel really bad about the knee incident, a moment of madness it was. I'm still unsure as to what I was trying to accomplish. But check this, I've been trying to ring the guy since it happened (3 days now) and I've been unable to reach him - He may be ignoring me! My knee's still sore so his head must be too :(

Just spotted another good place to chill out in the summer sun. For South East londoners, go to the isle of Dogs and head for Cubitt town. There is a man made beach nestled away by Amsterdam Road or Drive. At low tide, pure sand. Sampled what the sand was and it is soft very soft sand. Felt tempted to jump in the water as the waves lapped the shore. i have seen people jumping in Victoria dock but one should stay clear from the wall as undertows and massive whirlpools can devolop.

Anyway, today I had a great day. Cycled through Greenwich, went into Docklands itself. Very new now. Popped into the lift but sadly the day was marred by some guy who wouldn't take me up the lift because I cycled through. having said that i saw atleast five other cyclists in front of me scootering on their peddles. I guess one rule for one and one rule for another. I think maybe he had a point but must add, there was only us cyclists and two pedestrians in the tunnel. if it had been crowded I would have walked. I walked over to the isle of dogs on foot as a few people were on foot and would not have been happy. Having said that, I think the guy had something personal going on with me. Lucky him, I am not a part of the Wu tang clan.
