Hey everyone, I thought I would post my question in this section, maybe I'll get better responses...

My girlfriend and I haven't had sex now since January, and we've found out why... We stopped because it was hurting her so much, that she just can't deal with the pain at all... It turns out, she has Endometriosis... So now I ask, what can be done? She is already on b/c pills to help with the pain, and it does nothing, and she's too afraid to get surgery. This is pretty much destroying our intimate life. We can now no longer have sex at all... and she's constantly in pain everyday... Does anyone have any experience with this, and how to deal with it? I just would love some advice with this... thanks a lot everyone.

My wife has had surgery for it. She also had a cyst on her overary. I know for about a year and a half she was in pain every time we had sex. After the surgery she has had no more problems. They also told us she would be unable to have kids and 8 years later we have two. I would suggest she go ahead with the surgery as my wifes condition kept getting worse over time.

Yea, her condition is definetly getting worse over time... The doctors keep trying new and different b/c pills, but nothing helps. She's told me that she will most likely get the surgery in late June or early July. Is there anything we could do until then? I feel terrible that she's in pain every single day... :(

I can't say that we really found anything short of abstaining from penetration to be helpful. The doctor suggested keeping her on top, it didn't work out for us though, she still had pain. She really didn't have pain when we were not having sex though, so we just found ways around it. She tried all the BC stuff to with no results except her hormones going all over the place which made the whole thing worse. For about a month after the surgery she was very tender as well but a couple months later she was fine and has had no further pain.

For just the constent pain there is a pill she can be purscribed it is so strong that the max she will be able to take it is 5 days in a row. I take two at the on set of pain then repeat evry 6 hours as needed for pain. It has helped alot at least it does me. The name of it is PONSTEL. Now please be aware there is no generic for it yet so it can be costly. Have her ask her doc it could really help her out. I have no idea what to tell you on the pain during sex though other the bear with it and just help here to keep her chin up my hubby suffered for a year or more when I first started haveing problem. It took that long for a doc to figure out my issue it is not endometriosis but treated with similar perscribed pain meds. The one I told you they use for pain in really bad cases of endometriosis the doctor told me.

Hey, from experience i have endometriosis as well and i know she is scared to havew a surgery but she should go any ways its the only way to find out if its realy endometriosis and its not that bad i have got it done befor and its just a small needle hole in the belly button. If it is endo she can get it treated after with anotehr surgery or a pill to stop the period which will stop the pain but if she hasnt gone theres no way of telling that its endo and not somthin worse.

I was going to say that she should really go ahead with the sugery. It should get rid of the pain and make her feel like a normal woman.

I have talked to someone about this exact topic actually, there is a strong chance that if a natural progesterone depository is prescribed and taken, that the woman may have the ability to hold a pregnancy to term. This is because there is an abundant amount of estrogen present in females with this disease, that needs to be balanced out. I'm not sure if it'll work for everyone, but I know that a friend of a friend had it work for her.

    Please look in to this.
