well, technically if they are both disease free, no their is no chance of contracting anything......however it's still a very good idea to get checked out, nobody really knows for sure what they have.

Yeah, AIDS and the like can actually be undetected for a few weeks after contracting the virus. This is known as the window period. During this period, the HI virus begins to infect your T Lymphocytes, using their materials to reproduce and destroy the cell in the process. The T lymphocytes are the cells that help to destroy germs and viruses.

When getting tested for AIDS, the doctors will check your T lymphocyte count. In a healthy person, the count should be between 600-1200 cells/ml of blood, but if it drops below, then the person is declared as being HIV positive.

Tell your friend to get tested now, but then again in 3 months while the possible window period passes. After 3 months, the asymptomatic phase will have begun if your friend is in fact now HIV positive, but at least then s/he will know whether s/he is postive or not. Hopefully s/he isnt :( HIV/AIDS isn't a good thing to have at all.

Your question was not stupid at all. You mustn't be worried to ask these kinds of things as you will very rarely get a negative response.

if both are disease free then there is no chance of infection. However, many people lie/don't realize they're infected. If there is any doubt about one of the people involved then there should be a test.

if you know FOR A FACT they are disease free...they are clean

if you are guessing by no symptoms they are disease free...you should get tested cuz it is possible
