What do you think of these guys? It's an interesting idea to have three disginguished guitarists playing together, but I find that the songs they play tend to become all out guitar battles. It used to be Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and a guest (Eric Johnson, Yngwie Malmsteen etc) but this year it's Satriani, John Petrucci and Paul Gilbert. I was watching them on YouTube, and all Petrucci and Gilbert seem to be able to do is play scales and sweeps very fast. Anyone here like them? And if you do, why?
Joe Satriani is overall my favorite guitar player ever. He has some real skill, although Petrucci, and Gilbert are good too. No one can compare to the skills of the satch.
I do like Paul Gilbert, not sure about G3. I haven't checked it out and it doesn't sounds really interesting to me. I'm not a fan about either of them though.
Eric Johnson is good, Steve Vai is great, I've never really listened to Joe Satriani, but this guy is better than all of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dz9FKIIaoQU
