    Tomorrow morning:

    There is no electricity.
    There is no running water.
    No gas / oil.
    No internet.
    No phone lines.

Can you surive... would you survive?

    Would you want to survive?

there's no cars to get you anywhere.. there's no electricity to heat the homes or cook food.. there's no running water to drink.... there's no stores open to buy food at... there's no way to access money you may have earned.....

On second thought... I don't quit. I've always wanted to live on a deserted island with just essential people (or person).... and if money can't be accesed that may be good... I'm not big on a capitalist society anyways and often wished I could live in more simple times or a more simple society. I could make this work and like it...

The thing I don't like is the no transportation but if I can still have my bike.... and I coud build a boat.

I'd go fishing and gathering like in more simple times. I'd get myself to a lovely island where there are lots of natural resources.

Why? Okay I get your point about panic at the beginning but I'd find a spot until people spread out a bit and once I got where I'm going... not many would think to go there....

(what can i say, im an optimimist) :D

Well, for comparison.. I just went to my bathroom.. took a piss... went to my refrigerator, poured myself a glass of water from my brita filter, sat down on my synthetic chair, listened to my AC click on, and now I'm typing on the internet... seems kinda fragile if you ask me.

You asked if we'd want to or could live without? I mean I am on the computer now and playing music and sat down on my comfy chair... of course modern technology is great... but that doesn't mean it couldn't be great to get back to more basics and experience the world that way also.

Haha... perhaps I have unfounded doubt about the will / intelligence / character of the late night hipforums crowd.... It always continues to impress me.

I just wonder how the average american would do tomorrow with absolutely nothing... I'll admit that I myself, feel ill prepared...

i may not be great at it...but i know enough to survive

average american...i dont' have much hope for them....but i know that my friends and i could survive

That first comment I did not "hear" because it's not worth responding to.

I wouldn't be prepared either but I'd figure it out and probably like it.
