You know, "god" is really vague and could be any number of deities. And all those ancient names make him/her/it sound like an old fuddy duddy.

What should we call it?

haha ok, I see where your coming from, but in essence, isnt love what god actually is? Or at least, what it represents? I mean, no matter what religion one claims to be associated with as having faith in, dont they all revolve around some form of love? Well, I mean, the majority of religions, I guess some are different but......yea Either way, I love you all and accept you all, we are all beautiful and unique human beings, we all deserve a right to be here, be alive, to love life and our fellow humans traveling the same path as the rest of us, and I dont care if that is cliche or "lame", shame and pride are what tears us apart as good people and eats us alive from the inside out

Maybe we need to change our perception of the word God, There is one God just as there is one you. You don't always do the same thing why should God. Just because God makes people horny one day and provides weed the next doesn't mean there has to be a weed god and a porn god. Jus cause God reaches some people through tingly warm feelings and other he reveals the beauty of the universe through science and math.

 

may I suggest a few:

"Jesus' Dad"

"the creator"

"that bastard up there"

"backwards doG"

"Doug backwards without the u and the capitals switched"

"dude that I(/we/you) worship cause I(/we/you) am(/are) retarded"

or just simply:

how about recognizing that all names are bullshit, our own bullshit that we as humans have come up with, and that whatever deity and or dieties might actually happen to exist, we, as humans know jack about in the first place, whatever any belief might claim to the contrary.

god is indeed just a conveinient generic handle. one by which we delude ourselves into immagining we know more, not only then we do, but then we ever conceivably can. the unknowable essence, the tao or some now have it, his noodlieness.

but in all seriousness, should we be refering to god or a god or the gods by any names at all? how would you feel about your pet cat or dog's pet names for you?

isn't that the equivelant of ANY name we come up with for refering to whatever it is that there might be?
