If Bush dropped his macho cowboy image and started wearing tie dye shirts and his speeches were of brotherhood and peace, what do you think?? Imagine.
It's very sad. I wish people could just live in harmony for once. We don't have to all agree on things, but killing people? That solves nothing. From the way I see it this kid was nothing but an attention seeker. He just wanted all of the attention in the world before he killed himself. Ridiculous.
im not from america but when i heared about the shootings it shocked me so much. what the shooter probly didnt realise was that he wasn't JUST killing those innocent people, he was tearing apart their families, scarring the students who whitnessed and survived, breaking friendships and perhaps causing further riots in the school. going back to a school where atleast one person you knew close to well has died makes it an uncomfortable and sad enviroment. its going to take years to recover from such a loss to everyone. this is where i get confused about why we just cant have peace. if everone just stepped down from their high steps and just got along with everone and acted as an equal, it would make so much more of a difference. but what can you do? atleast one person from each community is going to rebel and cause havock. its going to take and extremely bright and loving person to be able someday, come up with the answer to peace. its right infront of us people! its not like its hard to gain peace! infact its probably one of the most easiest things to do. you dont lose ANYTHING and you have sooooo much to gain. WHY? PEACE and love xxxxxx
he wasn't just a troubled kid. he had serious mental problems, extremely lonely, and everyone seemed to be afraid of him. i know some troubled people, but none of them is as sick as this guy was. instead of locking people up, which probably will make them even more crazy, we just could try to make this people feel OK in the environment they live. i seriously think most of the people who shoot fellow-students at school miss affection.
According to Megadeath, "Peace Sells, But Who's Buying". The message of love, peace and goodwill to mankind was already out there since time immemorial. But do most people care? Majority of us spend our lives trying to do things right, like striving to get the latest, fashionable, expensive material things, and yet, we forget to do the right things, like loving and caring for one another.
I'm gonna hold this image in my mind and heart! What a world this could be. Imagine, George W leading the USA and then the world in a campaign for PEACE AND LOVE. Thanks for a happy thought, Hari.
total bullshit. there is plenty of ways to prevent such things. there are cops, perquisitions, metal detectors. intelligent gun control too, at least to prevent guns from falling lawfully in the hands of the first psycho with 500 $ to waste. there is or better was lacking the good sense of investigating on a boy who had previously proven to be dangerous. one or more people didnt do their respective jobs because that guy had to be neutralised a long time ago. such things must not happen. that's why authorities exist. i cant imagine what led you to such a mindless conclusion. seems you dont give a fuck about the 32 victims.
except if they happen to live there because the're iraqi. this thread appears to have the highest rate of senseless adfirmations, not to say crude stupidity, EVER .
i totally agree with you. that is why i posted this thread. alot of things could have be done, alot of precautions could have been taken. its just denial. alot of people think that school shootings are things that happen just to other people and not them. the school shooting at virginia tech could have been prevented in many ways and it should have.
He was troubled. Plain and simple. Its great to be able to look back and see all these warning signs appearing and coming together but in the real world things like this happen. I wasnt shocked at all when this happened. I wish i could be.
what is PEACE actually? if you look through history there was always just death death death...wars... is there any peace? i think not...when a comet hits earth...oh...then will be peace...why? cause we all are going to die...and again...death for silence and peace...we went to deep playing this game...game of life and death...in these days it's dangerous to even go out cause you never know when will some maniac start shooting becouse of his own problems...and why does he has some problems? becouse of this fucked up world we're living in... i think we cannot help to make this world better becouse it is already gone off of his tracks... so hello goodby till we meet again...till we meet again in silence and peace...
Sorry, I don't think, things like this could be entirely prevented. We could only do our best efforts to minimize violence and tragedies like these. But sooner or later, something similar gruesome and heart-breaking is bound to happen. It's just the nature of this imperfect world we live in. Besides, most of the money is going to finance that insane war in Iraq. How come no one seems to question Bush's mental sanity?
yeah we could but everybody are just talking talking and talking about making this world better and not doeing anything...we are going to die, new people are going to be born and again there will be some crazy motherfucker who will kill 100 people, or start a war in Iraq or somewhere...there is nothing left to do except to try to live your own way of living cause we are to small to fight against wrong things ( for example, fight against Bush)...and again...if we try to make that you know there will be some blood spilled becouse people like him don't understand any other way then make something with force...
Eh...Ok. Id just like to say that the world is indeed a peaceful place. Or at least, thats what I think... See, I presume the "world" and us humans to be two completely seperate things. We are not the world...Its our people that arent peaceful (not the earth, which is fine and dandy ). So...The world is peaceful, its just that the human race isnt. That this is so, I think, is simply hidden from us by ourselves by a veil of our own weaving. (That was corny xD)
We are born and start screaming. When we are children we are screamed at and threatened "I'm gonna beat your ass"... We fight over toys and candy, we get our asses beat. We are told every move to make, and totally controlled. When we go to school, we are thrown into an unnatural environment with a bunch of other kids who have been screamed at and had their asses beat. We are intimidated by angry kids and threatened by teachers. We are controlled in this unnatural environment under threat of "detention"... We are taught competativeness. We watch our parents and siblings fight. We see war on TV and learn it is acceptable. We crave violent entertainment. We are spoiled rotten in our cushy little selfish bubbles. We grow up and it's all about money and who gets the biggest house and car. We struggle to keep up with the Jonses and our kids demands. We are slaves to a system which beats us down. We give much of our hard earned money back to the government in the form of taxes in order to support more wars. Never once in all of this does anyone think of teaching LOVE. Compassion. Respect. How to get along with others. Oh yea, I guess if you go to CHURCH you might hear about something like that, but religion is not seen as "cool". In fact, it has gotten to the point where anything honorable or "right" is not "cool". It's a wonder that even MORE people don't just completely lose their minds...
Youre quite right xD Its strange to wonder about the idea that...if we couldnt think or feel, there'd be very little problems for us humans. We wouldnt start wars or harm eachother Meh...humans should try and learn to use their ability to think and feel (and all that stuff o.o) in positive ways. How we're raised has a lot to do with it though...meh. I dunno.
yes well... all I have to say is pig-headed. Maybe most of that 99.9999999 percent of us people care about other humans whether we knew them or not.
There was an IU Law student arrested for shooting an AK47 in his apartment complex recently. No one was injured; residents were scared and there were rumors flying about a "sniper" on campus. The latest update: the only victims were his textbooks, which had bullet holes through them. Too bad he couldn't find a less criminal way to destress. Peace and love
