Britain is alright but one who lives in london soon discovers that once you are bored of London, you are bored of life. apparently London used to have a wall around the city. Also London is one of the most haunted cities in the world. The other day I felt as though I was being followed. I turned around and nobody was there.

Britain is quite good. lol But I'd rather not get in to a... Self-praising discussion with people also from the UK lol I might be mistaken for a patriotic person!! But for the benefit of Tomplus... We're freakin' gods with a superior government, language, and way of life: DATS WOTS SO GOOD BOUT US! lol

But seriously, I have a real problem finding fault with this country. :p

The way the media and businesses are gaining more and more control over the people and therefore the country is something that is rather worrying, however this is minimal in comparison to other countries, but that is no way to think.

Oh I do though, well there is just so much to say:
I love the way the british really look after their towns and cities arent they so quaint, Whereas on the European mainland they simply leave their shopfronts as original, we here in the uk have pride in progress and smash down all that old pretentious crap and put new plastic, doubleglazed fronts. It makes every high street so cool. Also britain isn't a litter infested shit-hole, its streets are totaly clean compared to... urrrm... ha ...urm well compared a shit-hole I once saw at glastonbury festival.

Arent the people of the uk so friendly? wherelse would you find all the worlds religions slitting each others throats in such close proximity except in palestine.
And dont you just love the way brits overcome it all and understate the problem when some asshole blows the shit out of innocent passers by?

Oh yeah britain is great and its not a rip off at all.

    What??

Sorry, but I'd say we're more accepting of foreign cultures then other countries. Where else would you find religions slitting each other's throats in so close proximity? Not many places, cos there are no other religions in other countries, well at least not as high percentage as there is here.

The streets are litter filled? THAT is what's wrong with Britain? Damn, I'd love to live in India where all they have to worry about is corrupt police officials.

I didn't exactly understand what you meant about "leaving shop fronts as originals" - Please do explain.

Ronnie's just trying to be controversial. Though it's worth noting that France has a much larger Muslim and Jewish population than Britain....

Yes, it was a bit of a fiasco, though France, as a secular country, has always sought to keep religion out of public life. Rather they needed to find a way to integrate Muslims into national society and orientate them to the state rather than to religion. These are all worthwhile goals, though the means didn't really live up to the ends....

LMAO "Yeah, we're great! It's in the name."

It _was_ a bit of a fiasco? I imagine it still is for a lot of people.

love the British humour and their
    sense of irony....

    they seems streets ahead than
    other countries at times

i dont really get american humour
at all...it seems to lack intelligence
    and isnt funny...

    IMHO....

Americans can be very funny. They have good sense of humour. The British sense of humour is all based upon dry wit. It is a bit like having a dry martini in a desert where british humour stems from.

That seems a bit harsh and rather presumptuous! Although I do think American humor is a little less subtle then ours.

But then I didn't really get your streets ahead joke(?) so maybe I'm more suited to Yanky humor? :p

    Nah it isnt a presumption

Its an opinion.....mine and nobody elses!!!

I am not into obvious or slapstick humour

and love observational humour which the
British (to my mind) are quite good at!!!

    :)

Streets ahead wasnt a joke....it just means
    erm.........ahead!!

I have never set foot,(wait, does stopping for 12 hours at Heathrow counts?) in England but judging by the movies I've seen, and how progressive the culture is, and how easy they integrate other cultures, the openness of mind, and I believe much higher education, then yeasss, I'd say its both very conservative and very hip, and a good place to have been born into. I don't think I fit anywhere else, yet at least in here I can be a slacker and get away with it..

I love Indian religion, but seriously I'd die in a week perhaps of boredoom there. In Spain people seemed dead while having the two hour lunches, and after being there a month, I was happy to be back here;yet I still need to see ther rest of Europe to judge better.
