1) How fertile is a women right after her period ends... Considering this is a fucked up extra long period after her birth control acted up and she started on a different type. If anybody knows. And 2) How would the Morning-After pill react to this. Keep in mind that high-school taught me that I am especially fertile, and am to some extent deliberately ignorant on fertility, menstruation, all that fun stuff. And yes, I know I'm a retard. No reason to point it out.
On average, women ovulate 14 days after the first day of your period. So, immediately after your period, you would be around day 7, which would mean you're really not that fertile. The thing you have to be careful with is that sperm can live in your body for up to 72 hours (little bastards!), so if you have sex the week after your period, but it's at the end of the week, say, day 12, there's some chance of pregnancy. However, because you've switched up your bc and had a really long period I don't know what to tell you except to take a preg test. You're only really fertile about 3-5 days a month. A really really great website that tracks your periods and lets you know when you're fertile is: http://www.mymonthlycycles.com Totally free, and a great help to be aware of your own fertility. -Kate
I got pregnant on the pill. Around 2 days after my period ended, according to my calculations. Just to upset your mind a bit more.
Yeah. I convinced her to take the morning-after pill this morning rather than tomorrow, so I guess it's just wait and see. Ordinarily I wouldn't be as worried, but ordinarily I don't really date girls who are so against abortion.
Spooner, as I know you are a very well-read and responsible young man, you should invest some time into reading "Take Charge of Your Fertility" By Toni Weschler. It would explain how the entire female fertility cycle works, as well as the obvious variations. It would put your mind at ease a bit, or maybe shake you up, but either way, you'd be educated.
when i took the morning after pill, my body was fucked up for two weeks, so if she nausious or .. hm.. i forget how else i felt, but it was all "pregnancy" stuff stereotypically, so dont freak out if she doesnt feel good for awhile.
Would just like to conclude this thread by saying that it looks like everything has worked out. I am returning to my previous carefree ways. Sort of.
same here. i got so sick after taking it and was in the worst relationship/situation I have ever been in and the day after I took it had the guy go totally psycho on me verbally and physically. I also got very sick shortley afterwards and wound up in the hospital. I don't know if it was related but yeah make sure you're nice to her because that thing fucks your body up. I will never take it again. Condoms and sponges are wonderful like that, especially together. I can't take birth control pills. They make me feel icky.Don't get me wrong I definitley want a child, just not this very second.
