Hi Skip, A friend sent this to me awhile back. I thought it was hilarious but truly sad because as you say...."..if it werent' so true" I took the liberty to send it to a couple of my republican friends. I got no response from them....I wonder why??

I saw that group at a big protest I went to in NYC. At first I thought they were serious, they were screaming things like "Free the Enron 7" and "Go get a job you bum protestors" haha, i got quite a kick out of their wardrobe as well.

    Peace and Love,
    Dan

well, if billionaires for bush can only bring around one billionaire, think of the huge amounts of money that they've manage to wrest from bush's campaign.

the great thing about these tongue-in-cheek political statements is that people pay attention. in our short attention span society either gave up listening a long ago, or if they ARE paying attention, they're just looking for something to get pissy about. give it to them in an entertaining manner, and they'll listen.

The best political satire I can think of would be The Marx Brothers "Duck Soup". It nails Politicians and International Relations, ironically it failed at the box office. People didn't like the war at the end of the film in 1933.

I'll try to find out how much each Campaign has raise this political season and the average amount. The average income of the donor might also be interesting. With McCain-Feingold in play this year, don't know what I'll find.

As a warning, my posts tend to be a bit long winded and boring.:&

i think one of the enduring benefits of comedians is their ability to deal with socially touchy views in a manner that for most people is less threatening. like chris rock saying "was it al queda who bombed oklahoma city? was it al queda who put anthrax in your mail? no. fuck al queda, i'm more afraid of al cracka'"

True...just remembered another film "Modern Times" by Charlie Chaplin. It came out in 1936; was his last silent film. Also showed Chaplin's politics was more to the left than what E. Edgar Hoover prefered.

Gawd...I'm really showing off my age.....
