oh kafka is amazing. i read the metamorphases twice. i read the descrption of a struggle, wedding preperations in the country, the judgment, in the penal colony, a country doctor, a report to an academy, the refusal, a hunger artist, a little women, josephine the singer, or the mouse folk-excellent, the trial....endless i wish i could write like him.
I have yet to try and get my head around Kafka, which is a bit sad considering I am surrounded by a lot of his artwork etc. Maybe I will read it one day.
what do you mean by getting your head around kafka? what art work did he do? didnt he just do little sketches and charicatures.
i read metamorphosis and was more impressed with the idea of the story than how it was written.....i think i enjoy others' Kafka inspired works more - for example, anyone here watch the animated "home movies" series? in one episode they were working on a fab rock opera called "Kafka" - hilarious, and actually good, too!
My favorite book by Kafka was "The Trial" I'm still reading "The Castle" but I've taken a break from it because I'm reading like 15 other books aswell. I don't know if anyone knows this but he wrote abunch of Aphorisims aswell. My favorite one that he wrote is:: "From a certain point on, there is no turning back. That is the point that must be reached." Aphorism #5 Franz Kafka
