Hi guys I was wondering if you might be able to help me out. I'm going to amsterdam this summer, I have 3 weeks booked but if I can get work I want to stay alot longer. I was just wondering how hard/easy it is to get work in the Dam? I don't speak any dutch at all but I was hoping that wouldn't matter too much. I live in the eu so I don't need to worry about visas or permits. What kind of work is available over there? and is it hard to come by? I don't really mind what kind of work it is, as long as its safe and it pays enough to scrape a living while i'm over there.

Just Kidding In all seriousness I have no idea. it seems possible at some coffeeshops but you really have to have a nice boss (preferably a friend) and a shop of a decent size (so that there are dutch speaking employees to handle the dutch speaking customers).
I don't know how hard it is to find work. But since you are clear to work in the EU try working at a hostel as a cleaner or bar staff in exchange for possible small per diem and definite exchange of free bed. Try the Flying Pig at the beach there was a post on there about beach help. That may help you just to get started out and then look for something that pays. If I had this opportunity, I'd look into undutchables (search on web) and Another good start might be to look into all of the employment agencies that are located in Amsterdam. They may have jobs for English-only speakers. I think I saw Adecco when I was last in A'dam. Lets Go Amsterdam has a small section on working in Amsterdam.
