Growing with LED lights

I've been hearing alot about LED growlights, but am haveing trouble finding info. on them that doesn't come from some one who sells the things. Any body have experience with them? I am particulary interested if they can deliver the same kind of intenesity you get from HID lighting. My fear is that the LEDs will hav the same problem as CFL (not enough intencity leading to wispy buds) when it comes time to flower. I would be grateful for any info. about LEDs people are willing to share.

I believe the LED lights he is using are from LEDGrowlights.com.

 

Thanks for the links, Ihave found abunch of info. I guess I'm really trying to find out if anybody has used LEDs in a decent sized grow( 2000w+) and how that worked out. Seems like the answer is it didn't, but hope springs eternal.

 

LED tech is still new and very expensive. There probly ain't anybody here rich enough to blow thousands on experimental tech.>(

 

I think that's why NASA is working with them too

 

a medical grower in CA i know invested in a led light set up (i am not sure there for grow set ups) but to make a long story short there not in use anymore
