I drink Diet Coke all the time. I don't drink it because I think I'm fat or anything. My parents always drank diet sodas when I was growing up, and regular Coke just tastes wierd to me. I hear all kinds of shit like it turns to formaldehyde when it hits your stomach, that it'll give me cancer, that it causes depression... blah di blah blah blah Lately I've had more people giving me crap about drinking f-ing Diet Coke more than smoking cigs. WTF man?
The artificial sweetener in diet soda, aspartame, is an excitotoxin. It breaks down to form aspartic acid and methanol (wood alcohol) in the body. Very nasty stuff that would have never been approved if it wasn't for Donald Rumsfeld, who was the CEO of J.D. Searle (the company which first manufactured aspartame) and his influence over getting the FDA to approve it. Here is a very well-written article about aspartame: http://www.***********/article/aspartame/dangers.htm Donald Rumsfeld and Aspartame: http://www.newswithviews.com/NWVexclusive/exclusive15.htm
Mom mom drinks it and she used to drink Tab. Dunno why anyone would pay to drink something that tastes worse than water.
Ahhh yes, Diet Coke, poison in soda form. A shelf life of 72 hours at room temperature MAX. Aspartame can be some deadly stuff, just ask the woman who's serving time in prison, wrongfully accused of murder, when her husband actually poisoned himself day after day with a ton of diet drinks they kept in the garage. Sorry I'm too lazy to link you to the actual story...think it's somewhere on Snopes.com.
wow, that's crazy. My mom is literally addicted to diet coke. I don't think she will ever stop drinking it. She has "lied" to her doctor about it, that's how bad it is.
Ehh... who cares, drink whatever you want. Everything in life kills ya, if you like Diet Coke, then I say... drink all the diet coke in the world.
High Fructose Corn Syrup is the reason why diabetes is so rampant in our country...anything with HFCS should be avoided, really... BUT, soda tastes bad too...almost like metal... Although I thought soda tasted good as a kid in the glass bottles...
Thank you dude. That's my point. Out of all of the things that I put into my body the one I'm least concerned about is my Diet Coke. I could even understand if people were giving me the cigarette lecture time and time again. But, when people start looking at my Diet Coke can saying "you know, that stuff can kill ya!" I just don't get it. Oh, and have you heard about this? There's a new Diet Coke. It's called Diet Coke Plus. Apparently it has added vitamins. I think that's ridiculous too. I'm drinking a freaking soda not a V8.
That's certainly a big part of it. I wouldn't say that's the main reason, however. Refined sugar and artificial sweetener are both bad for a person, though the artificial sweeteners are far worse.
Taste the obesity, rotted teeth, and cancer. Conveniently stored in a metal can. Yum. If you really care about your body, quit fucking poisoning yourself. Otherwise don't even post this kind of bullshit.
You're so right! VITAMINS? Who needs that shit!?!? Get a grip dipshit. Quit drinking it all together.
cigarettes, marijuana, alcohol...... I think its funny that there are these people that say how bad soda is for the body, yet here they are puffin on cigarettes, or drinkin beer.... and marijuana isnt good for your body either.... (although the stoners would tell you otherwise)
This can be applied to much of what is marketed as food. Like any other business, the food industry exists for one purpose only: profits. The government, which demonstrates again and again how little it thinks of you and me, sets nutritional standards as well as safe levels of toxins ion what is sold on grocery shelves. So-called food is colored to make it look pleasing for the quick sell, chemically flavored to make it taste good and make it likely to be bought again (like an addiction) and chemically preserved to increase shelf life and minimize loss. Take some time and read the ingredients lists of what you eat and see the many wonderful things that we put in our bodies every day. It's your body and you're free to treat it any way you please but you should do so with your eyes open.
