So now, almost six years since the Anthrax Attacks on Americans, we still are no closer to finding the culprits. But maybe they're a LOT CLOSER than we are led to believe. If you look at WHO was targeted in those attacks, you'll see that it was two of the most powerful Democratic legislators at that time, and the "liberal" media represented by the networks, ABC, CBS & NBC. All the above mentioned got deadly anthrax spores sent to them. And this anthrax wasn't just weaponized (something now being denied because if true it can only point to our own government), but was in fact more refined than ANY Anthrax that the US or Russians had admitted producing thus far. So in effect it HAD to either be a top secret batch or part of a clandestine operation which involved the TOP US biotech experts, because it was that good! The Anthrax investigations got to the point where there were going to trace back not just the strain (which is definitely from Ft. Detrick, the one place that had that strain), but also the coating on the Anthrax. Then suddenly, under the watch of Alberto Gonzalez, the Investigation was pretty much put on hold for the next 4 years. No doubt this was due to the fact that scientists were just about to reveal the true source of the Anthrax. But what still remains to be investigated is WHY certain targets were chosen and not others. Why were only Democrats targeted? If it was Al-Qaeda, they could hardly be expected to target just a few Congressmen, when Bush & Cheney would've been much better targets especially for their propaganda purposes. And the liberal media who were still skeptical of the War on Terror, and not fully backing the upcoming war on Afghanistan, were then targeted so that they too would FEAR terrorism. What really pisses me off is so many ppl are focused on 9/11 and trying to prove THAT was a conspiracy when there's a much more OBVIOUS conspiracy right in front of our faces, that will probably lead us directly to those involved in the Anthrax attacks. Once we get rid of Alberto Gonzalez, we might actually get this investigation going again, since it was Gonzalez himself who side tracked it and basically terminated it. I think when the truth is found, it will lead to some black ops directed by Rumsfeld and Cheney if not Karl Rove himself. When will we find out the TRUTH about this, an attack upon Americans by Republican Politicians???
Well, we know the Anthrax came from a government lab. We also know Bush and Cheney, and other members of the administration were taking Cipro weeks before the Antrhax was mailed out to people. So we know they knew about this well in advance, and this, if anything, should be the smoking gun. This has been known for quite some time now. So there is no doubt that this was a government op. It was used to further instill fear in the public so they could pass their totalitarian police state legislation and get the public fearful enough to go along with whatever was being put forward by the government.

I highly doubt the Dems will do anything. They have pretty much been rolling over for Bush from the beginning. (The large majority, that is.)
If the dems are holding back, the only reason I can see is because they already know the truth, and realize the truth would undermine the credibility of the entire US gov't. Perhaps that situation is LONG OVERDUE! And if dems are now complicit in keeping the truth about the Anthrax Attacks secret, they should be tried as traitors along with the Republicans!
A coverup quiet posibly, but I would guess it was after the fact to avoid acuasations of this type, or to avoid the blame being put on lab security. as far as a goverment terrorist taktic I can't see it. the problem is it didn't realy hit close to home like a good old fasion bombing, say a car bomb in the dem headquarters parking lot.
The only problems with the theory: You left out the New York Post, which is very right wing. You also left out the National Enquirer and The Sun, which aren't really right or left. Weaponising means coating with a material that keeps it from sticking together, so it can be more easily spread in the air. I was not more refined, it was refined differently. There is debate about whether this qualifed as "weaponised" (aerosol enabled), one of the proponents of this theory is the Armed Forced Institute of Pathology, which spoke out in disagreement with press articles that said it wasn't weaponised. So exactly the opposite of the government coverup you are claiming. I don't think there is much agreement about whether it had to be a government lab, as opposed to a home lab. And many pharmaceutical companies' labs would probably be capable of doing this kind of work. Unfortunately, it is a mystery. It wasn't that good. And while the Ames strain used in the attacks was developed by a US military lab (funny how government investigators were willing to reveal that if they were in on the conspiracy), it was distributed to 15 other labs in the US and six overseas. It cannot be traced to one location. This is fictional. They have done DNA sequencing (and published it) and radiocarbon dataing. The case had 27 investigators, covered six continents, interviewed more than 9,100 individuals, conducted 67 searches and have issued over 6,000 subpoenas. They even found the post box the letters were mailed from. Think unabomber - how long did that take? Like the 911 conspiracy, huge logical fallacies have to be ignored. If the attacks were plotted to promote the war on terror and the invasion of Iraq, which did government investigators point to a US lab, rather than to Iraq, which had a known anthrax program? (Just like they "forgot" to find the WMDs in Iraq or provide real proof Iraq was involved in 911). Why did they attack a right wing newspaper? Why does Bush want failure to capture the anthrax spreader on his record, like the failure to capture Osama? How do these failures help him?
If our government can not control the distribution of such a lethal substance they have no business playing with it in order to design new weapons. I'd like to know the names of the 15 labs it was given to, and an explanation for their need of it. And Pepik, even the current administration except for Cheney admit that Iraq had nothing to do with 09/11. You keep trying to implicate them, but you have never presented any proof.
I didn't say Iraq was behind 911 and I have never said Iraq was behind 911. And if you want to know what labs, go look it up instead of sitting around wondering.

I was under the misunderstanding that lethal substances like Anthrax had to be registered and monitored. That the transfer of any samples could have been easily tracked by the administration. Now you are telling us that through some lack of oversight the manufactured military grade bio-substance has now been so dispursed as to negate the safeties built into the system.
Le sigh. Republicans weren't responsible, because Republicans haven't existed for years. Nor have Democrats. All the same gray sea of puppets, and it's rubbish to blame one section of them for something and not blame the rest. Yes, the fascist order ruling our nation and much of the world was behind the anthrax scares. They engineered 9/11 and 7/7 too. But pointing fingers at a long since defunct 'political party' is exactly the wrong thing to do. We waste time hooting and hollering about a strawman, a hologram, a puppet.
