Well, here they are.. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n91/Figroti/Dreads1.jpg http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n91/Figroti/dreads2.jpg I think I like them, except for the puffyness. I really don't like the puffyness. It makes my head look even smaller than it is, lol. All I used was an "unbreakable" comb, and hair clips/ponytail holders. My Mom started to help, but she wasn't very good at the backcombing, so I took over. I'm happy to have them, but PLEASE someone tell me they won't be this puffy for too long. lol Leave me any comments. Posiive or negative, I know how to take comments without being all "OMG THEY DON'T LIKE IT" *Chop*. =) EDIT: Ignore the emotionless, blank, serial-killer looks. I hate smiling in pics >.>
man, they're nice looking. i wouldn't worry too much about the puffy. a few washes should tighten them up. looking good, man!
I have a question. I have a few dread-to-be's and they're kinda like... hanging off my head like so.. -- \ | | | Instead of laying down. Will they fix themselves?
Figroti: no need to worry. As they mature, they'll hang more nicely. It seems to be pretty normal for them to stick out at odd angles after backcombing. I can't say how long it will take from experience since I never backcombed, but if you just wait, they'll quit sticking out after some time. P.S. looking good
Awesome. Thanks for all the comments everybody. Making me feel way good about muh dreads. What makes me even happier is how nice they look in a beanie. I've never looked good in a beanie!
everything will fix itself. I thought i was going to end up with foot high dreads sticking straight up off my brain case forever!!!!!!! It took over a month before they stopped doing that! by the way you're going to look AMAZIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNGGGGGGG once those get solid. Ya already do, but when those tighten up....sheeeeesh!! I love dreads. *swoons* haha
they look great its fine for them to stick up, they will flatten out soon from you sleeping on them and such. i think they will look super awesome on you in a few months when they dread up. mmm, yummy...uh... dreads
Haha, thanks guys. The only thing I'm really concerned about right now is the amount. I only have about 24, and I was expecting about 30ish. So I'm kinda worried if they're going to end up thicker than what I really wanted, plus I have a really tiny one or two. I was thinking about ripping a few, but I figure I'll just leave them do whatever they want. It looks like one or two might seperate themselves if I leave them go. Not sure though. HippieAdrien - I just left my Mom to do the sectioning for me. I felt bad, the first time I was home in 2-3 months and I had my Mom sit down for 3 hours only to find her backcombing sucked, lol.
with my last set, i only had 19 or so. i have really thick hair, but they wernt too fat. i have some very unclear pics of them in my gallery i you want to see what they looked like.
Awesome. That gives me some hope, then. I don't want super thickies, but I don't want little tinies either. No matter how they turn out though, I'll still love'em. =) You're really cute =) and you're lucky to live in Canada. A lot of the coolest people I've ever met in my life are from Canada.
thanks! you remind me of my ex boyfriend (thats a good thing lol). he looks a bit like jesus too dont worry, your dreads will own
Haha. If you think I look like Jesus, You'd HAVE to see my friend (Who happens to be letting his dreads go natual, 6 months in). He looks almost exactly like Jesus.
