Do you use the "Active Threads" link in the menu to find cool threads?

I search for things to read on HipForums by first checking my old posts (in the User Options menu) and then later searching the "Active Threads" link in Forum Options.

Is that how you found THIS thread?

It'd be interesting to find out the patterns of how people search the forums.


My pattern goes:
1. Check "Your Posts"
2. Check New Zealand, Marijuana and Stoners Lounge forums
3. Check Active Threads
4. Check any other forums that might have something interesting (Random Thoughts, Body Modifications etc) which is a bit older.

What's yours?

 

I check "Your posts" then "New posts"

 

nope. i just scroll down the main menu page and see if there's anything looks interesting.

it don't make diddly to me how new it is or not. though i usualy try and check if i've already commented, because chances are if i don't, what i have to say on a given subject is likely to be REAL close to what i said the previous time.

not always, but i've occasionly found where i've said EXACTLY the same thing, almost word for word, without realizing i had ever previouls commented on the tread in question at all.

i found i'd done that several times when i was like everyday active on elfwood, among other places.

First I always start off with "introduce yourself", and I always welcome the newcomers, and then after that, I just scroll down and go to where ever looks interesting. Usually hippies, then poetry, and then whatever else looks good.

 

"Active Threads" is a last resort for me.

That's how I end up talking to complete and utter idiots in the Marijuana forum once in a long while.

love n sex, womens, relationship, here, whiners, zoom down whole forusm to hit shit like mens issues and games if there are any new posts. then check activet hreads in case i missed anything of interest. theres so much pot-crap in there that its not a great method of navigation, just a way to check if there was anything internesting going on somewhere else

 

You're not too bad, but the rest of them kids give anti-marijuana advocates something to point thier finger at and say "Look what marijuana does to brain-cell count!"

I log in with active post see whos posting then check my post, If I'm realy bored I will check a few of the forums.

I've never really payed attention to the fact that there was a place to check on active threads.. I usually just see what's new in RT and then check up on some of my other favorites....
