Who decided the make weekends?

Who the hell got to decide that we would structure our lives into five days of working and two days of weekend? HOW is that decided? I dont get it! Why dont we have two weekends in one week, so itd be like:
Monday- Workday
Tuesday-Workday
Wednesday- Weekend!
Thursday- Workday
Friday-Workday
Saturday/Sunday- Weekend

Im confused! Whats your theory?

end of the week.
mon-fri you work, and at the end you get a break. (sat and sun)

saturday is the end of the week, sundays that beginning of a new one

shit thats all i can come up with.

having two weekends wouldn't make sense.

 

Jews are forbidden to work on saturdays (or throw out water, or tie knots, or a lot of other things) so they 'rested' on the sabbath.
Christians, in an attempt to make their religion more distinct from the jewish faith they came from, moved the sabbath to sunday.

back in the day, union organizers rallied around a forty hour work week. i'm guessing here, but they prolly put in the weekends because you could divide a 24 hour day into 3 8 hour shifts, and then have five work-days. the two left over days became the weekend.

Days are a bitch of a concept... the ratio of freedom to work we get really sucks.

 

Nobody HAS to work, money kills the good of man and of the world.

 

It doesnt have to make sense, to still be appreciated. lol

 

a lot of people died so you would only have to work 8 hours a day.

oh and i work 10 hour shifts, but thats my choosing, i can only work cirtain days because of school so meh

p.s. did you know the main singer is really a dude, right, and not a girl?? I thought for the first five months I was in Germany that the singer was a girl, but it turns out hes just a very femimine guy. interestin..

now that i know its a guy i have even less respect for that kid who wasted my $.99
i must admit that i couldnt finish that song before it "mysteriously" ended up in my recycle bin

i wouldnt say his scary appearance would be a reason to have less respect:
they just suck ass, thats what worthy of a loss of respect for 'em.
but yeah, the main singer is just creepy.
somehow their fanbase, which consists entirely of equally scary 12 year old girls, finds him attractive.
my question is, whats attractive about a guy lookin like a girl? why not just go find a real girl if thats what those girls are lookin for?

i work every other Monday.. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday.. so if you have a problem with working with only one weekend... maybe ya need to work in a kitchen.. or some place thats not structured around a 5day-8hr work schedule
