My hermit crab died!

I don't know why he died. I've had him since november of last year and the other day I smelled something rank in my room and discovered him dead! Does anyone know why he died? He had fresh water and peanut butter in his dish.

in my own experience,when i had hermit crabs,i had bought like 5 or 6 seperate housing facilities for them.you know,bigger shells.when they outgrow their old one,they need a new, more spacious shell. dont be discourged,when all else fails try again.good luck

but with death comes life...i just got a hermit crab for my birthday from my friend...

 

my hermit crabs ran away in the midst of moving.

 

my sister has one of those,
her boyfriend calls it "mr crab cakes" hehe

I have never owned a hermit crab. I didn't even know you could feed them peanut butter. Maybe it choked. Humans can choke on peanut butter.

I can help you here. You've had it since November. That's why it died. Unfortunately, they don't live very long.
