hey i need to get this wax out of my hair. it's sticky, and i can feel it hindering in the process of my dreads. how do i get it out. i've washed my hair and the wax just stays in and acually retains water. i showered 3 hours ago and my hair just started felling all the way dry a few minutes ago. so any tips for getting rid of wax would be awesome. and if your going to tell me to scrub, i need to know what "scrubbing" is. thanks!

My tip is, stop using wax (you've done this) and wash regularly with residue free shampoo...

yeah...use really hot water. i used wax in the beginning too. what i did was turn only the hot water on on my shower and pointed the shower head directly down, and just pulled different dreads up individually underneath it until i thought it'd be good. the residue shampoo helps a BUNCH, and there is even a rinse on here somewhere that is amazing for this!(there are MANY rinses, i think most will help^^) the one i used was Humblebees i think..twas good whatever it was^^

really hot water... and also try using a mix of sea salt, bicarbonate soda, lemon juice and a bit of tea tree oil in water, soak your head in that, scrub with a nail brush or tooth brush, leave it for a half hour or so, and then rinse bunches of times. wax is nasty, and really hard to get out, but worth the effort to remove. good luck :)

Like everyone else said, really hot water.......but i'm gonna go out on a limb here and take it a step further and say boiling water, or as close to boiling as you can get it....the hotter the better, soak your hair in it as often as it takes to get it out, make sure you don't let the water touch your skin and don't let your hair touch your skin when you pull it out because it will be very hot as well.......the best and fastest way to get rid of wax is heat....you should scrub immediately afterwards.........and it may take you quite a few times of doing this (depending on how much wax you have built up) but eventually it will all come out.

Find that concotion with the hot water, bicarb, tea tree, lemon juice and salt solution.

Get the water as hot as you can get it.

Soak dreadies for 30mins. Feel around you're dreads and you can feel they're getting softer and looser. Don't worry though.

Compare the colour of the water at the beginning, and at the end. That was enough proof for me that it works!
