Ancient greek philosophy is where its at. The seven sages, socrates, Plato, aristotle. there is very little in modern philosophy that these dudes didnt cover. show them some love.
On of my favorite Greek philosophers is Socrate. I love what he said about his imprisonment before his death. He refused to run away in exile because he knew full well he had to obey any laws his city would put forth, and to live in the city meant he had to follow the laws and the punishment for the laws no matter what. It is very noble and I agree with him. (Find the info and exact quotes from Plato, Crito).
i am elated to discover that there are others that appreciate these old dudes. as far as having a discussion or a philosophic debate, nothing would make me happier. However, i dont happen to have a specific topic on my mind. soo......
Well you can debate what Socrates said about government and laws with me. Of course I'm not gonna write the whole things down lol, but it's from Plato, Crito.
