is a story (below) about immigration and I guess the story is being used to make people indignant that such immigration is happening.

I used to think it was fair that rich countries should provide sanctuary for people from poor countries and harsh regimes, but now I think that a liberalist attitude has gone too far and we have all been taken for suckers !

What do you think, is it time to become a lot harder about immigration, or keep leniency?

BTW I think the story below is typical of a right wing strategy to highlight bizzarre dangers and keep people thinking about us and them in a derogotory way rather than constructively

You sort of need to make the division between refugees and immigrants.

Yes, the people have been taken for suckers. And it's not so much a "liberalist" attitude as much as it is a globalist attitude. There is a definite agenda behind it, but I will refrain from getting into it now.

immegration NEEDS to be NOT be controlled AT ALL, anywhere, what so ever period.

no argument for not allowing anyone into or out of any country makes any kind of sense at all. what so ever. period.

and if the most powerful nation on the planet didn't practice a policy of demonizing everything that doesn't kiss the ass of little green pieces of paper, people would not be fleeing for their lives from nations run by deathsquads supported by "free world" policies to keep the people who live there from being able to defend themselves from being ripped off of the very means of survival so that so called "free contries" can continue to get away with universaly destructive thoughtlessness.

The reason we have immigration is because we have borders. A border is just a line on a map, so why are they so important? We spent 1,000s of years without them...

Well, we spent times without lines on maps untill we invented the map. Before that we fought over huntinggrounds, fishinggrounds, good soil, sheep, et cetera ad nauseum...

I agree. Immigration should be alllowed. Just beceause an immigrant kills someone doesn't mean anything. Just because an individual does something stupid doesn't mean we should punish everyone of that group.

First to start please understand im not racist by any means.

With that being said. Yes we have a problem. I love my country, and im damn proud to be raised in it. Regardless of what anyone says. I would say almost everyone i know personally (raised in America) would agree with me that we have a problem. I love that we accept people into our contry to give them a better chance at life. Now though im starting to look at alot of it as "i cant stand the american people but im going to come here anyways beacuse of your benefits." Some people i have met through college who are good people with much different ethnicities say some things "occasionally" that really make me wonder. America now is a drop point. Everyone needs to come here for some reason. Oh how it is frustrating. This topic most people would have alot to say i would think. I cant get involved. haha

Obviously most immigrants wouldn't agree. I don't think immigration is a bad thing but we can't take on everyone, therefore there must be rules. I would just like to see these rules enforced.

what about where in most north and northwestern European countries, we have national health services and welfare states that people pay a great deal of tax into so that the population can rely on cheap health care based on the fact that everyone will need health care at some time in their lives but only a few people at a time comparitively will be recieving health care at this point in time. Immigrants go into those countries to give birth and then leave, because otherwise they would have to pay for that care in their own country.
They also must be treated for emergencies and in some cases expensivce drugs are issued to treat them all at the tax payers expense - why should people be allowed to cross into countries just to sucker the population into giving them free health care?

It is not the fact he is a refuuge [he is not a immigrant] it is the fact he could go home - he IS exploiting the system.

I'm not sure but i think it is more difficult for a goverment to deport you if you are a refuge or a asylum seeker . Come along as a immigrant - then you don't have much of a excuse not to go back hom - if your applicatioon is refused.

''right wing strategy'' mmm dunno do not think so - the writer of the peice has a point .
''MAYBE THAT MAKES ME ''RIGHT WING'' - Him killing someone and him being a refugee are two seperate issues - so yeah maybe it is a bit of a scare story and attempts to lump all refugees in the same pot. It is a bit of key before this sentence ''As a "refugee", Luque gained access'' . After that i agree with the piece - even if the tone is a little sour.

I do think it is a little crazy in the US - it should be more controled.

I would think that tax payers should want to help ALL people, not just ones with American status. Like taxes are always used perfectly anyhow? Wouldja like another vacation congressman????

Love your brothers; open your borders.

I do not know if this analogy works but here we go.

If somebody asked to live in your house - you may say ''Yes''.
If another person asked you may say ''Yes''
After the 7th person asks to stay in your house - you may have to think about it.
When it comes to the tenth person - for all the will in the world - you would probaly say ''No''.

If the person had a starving family, I would sleep outside to make room for them all. Maybe you guys are right though. Keep the workforce in Mexico for all U S corporations' right to cheap labour! Let real 'Americans' cut the lawns of the heartland.

I cut lawns and garden for a living. I enjoy it more than I ever did working in an office. American's as a whole should try it. Fresh air, exercise no middle management type looking over your shoulder.

I don't have to pay a high membership to a gym for workouts. I don't have to buy into self improvement books, because I value my own labor and effort.

I drive a twenty year old truck, I don't eat out, but I can look myself in the face every morning.

lol, I'm supposed to counter with ' and you sound like the dumbfuck in the Oval Office'? ...and the thread spirals down into a pit of ignorant banter. Seriously, I'm a humanitarian. It's a good thing. What is your contribution to Earth?

i think we need to step it up a notch. i don't we should just shun people. but we need to protect the borders from illegal immagration and almost every asian you see in america can't speak english. i hear asian people speaking asian and mexicans speaking spanish. all the time. this is america. we speak english. so now we are wasting money printing five different languages on everything. and bulding spanish schools so spanish kids don't have to learn english. i think if you immagrate here. you learn our language. if we all decided to move to china, would they start printing english on stuff? would they build english schools and buy english teachers? no. we would have to earn they're language. sorry i've gone on about this for a long time but i think it's a problem.
