Hedonist lyfestyle legal?

Just wondering, if u were a certified hedonist (if thats even possible thorugh means of paper or ceremony what have you) would you legaly be aloud to smoke pot and lead a hedonist lyfestyle?

Is there actually like a fully hedonist religion? Cause I thought it was just a lifestyle, and they can oppress lifestyles. Rastas here arent allowed to smoke weed, so I doubt my government would be nice to hedonists.

unless u believe pleasure is the greatest good and highest aspiration of mankind and take the position that it is the only true thing of value and the higest good and that pain should be avoided at all costs, u are not hedonist in the ethical sense.
nihilism is nothing-ism, the philosophy of meaninglessness. pleasure is not meaningless. never. but to be perfectly honest hedonism is a bit like boredom, isn't it just? cynical self-interest. *yawn* anyway, within any set of ideas exists a reasonable allowance for dissent. In other words to be a hedonist or nihilist you don't have to agree with every single detail merely the basic tenets. as to the original question by the originator of this thread:

well there are plenty of places where all forms of impairing one's judgement are lawfull, but none that i know for sure of about the rest of it.

I can't remember what, but some Native American tribe communicates with their Gods by using shrooms and the government got into it, but I haven't even heard the outcome yet.

You can get out of school for religious reasons though.

 

i somehow doubt that would play out that way considering the government we have, but that would prolly be the coolest thing.....ever.

Yeah, I've heard about that too. I know that the government is letting the Native American church use peyote, and I think some other drugs that would be otherwise illegal but I'm not sure what they are. I guess it's part of them trying to preserve what's left of their culture.

 

Oh wait, sorry to get off topic, but I just looked up the thing about the Native American Church. Apparently the only entheogen they use is peyote. Their religion is also known as "peyotism" and "peyote religion".
