I am a vegitarian, to boycott the consumer meat industry. Yup...now if you disagree with just go on in your white bread world, and be a good lil consumer.
if you boycott the consumer meat industry does that also include geletain and all other meat renderings ?
vegan. just wanted to see if u knoew what you were talkin about or if your someone who has a fishtree in the back yard. i read a lot on here people talking about a lot of stuff they know nothing about. i've had a bag of tvp in the cupboard for a year and just the other day i said HEY ... it could go in my spagetti sauce instead of wasting way 2.50 on the yves ground round. difference of many dollars and cents.
I know what you mean. My dad really teaches me alot of what I know. I was a love child, I was born when he was 41, now he is 53.
Good for you I'm vegetarian because..... Everything associated with meat eating is based on lies and propaganda. Fact remains it's cruel, destructive and you're better off without it. I'm very logical, and there aren't many things more illogical than an animal lover eating said animals. It makes my bunny happy
I think a lot of the comments made in this forum are sometimes overly aggressive and mean-spirited towards people who are not like you. People are meat-eaters mostly due to tradition, it was the way they were brought up, most people are afraid of change and a lot of us do things that way do though they may be wrong because we don't realize it we can't be conscious of everything, we can't understand everything as they are we are human and everyone see's things differently and there is a stigma associated with vegetarians related to this supreme moral platform that a lot of veggies stand upon and preach, to people by degrading them and ostentatiously showing your own judgement is the only right instead of being compassionate, and understanding and speaking to people about your beliefs and the facts without talking down to them. Just because someone thinks vegetarianism is stupid doesn't mean they're close-minded it just means that is something they don't find to be essential in their lives at the moment, and they've probably been harassed by pompous vegetarians before and assume it is a lifestyle for annoying, extremists. This is what some people think, it is a stereotype but all stereotypes are based in some truth. Consider this before you start criticizing people for not sharing your beliefs and practices.
So the entire history of mankind is based on lies and propaganda?! oh, wait... nevermind though i must say eating meat is neither cruel nor destructive, and you're not better off without it... however the meat industry is cruel... and if something wasn't a fact to begin with, how can said fact remain..?
I became a veggie because I didn't have a reason to eat meat. It's not neccessary for health, it's not neccessary to kill for food, and it's not neccessary because the alternatives are there. When I mentioned this to a friend, she looked at me and said that made sense... she's now a veggie too! honeyhannah: i agree with you on that... same reason i hear negativity towards feminists and such. Preaching doesn't get you places, understanding and discussion do.
I became vegetarian for ethical reasons. Yes, I would still eat meat now if it was right from the butcher who probably raised the animal well ( good old times).but the meat industry is extremely unethical (some exceptions for biodynamic and organic, but who knows what they do.). But hey! I found meat that even vegetarians can eat- MUSHROOMS!!
None of what he says makes sense, that's what he is known and loved for. I agree with Honeyhannah, some very good points there.
Simple fact, I dont care if you eat meat. I dont have a problem with you eating meat, as long as u dont force me to eat it there, u got it now.
to me it seems as though your ethics might be a bit fucked up if you can justify killing something just becuase it was raised on a " loving " farm.... as aposed to a non loving farm.
Well, I dont eat meat because I hate the practices of the meat industry. And with that have also come to feel that no animal is here for my consumption. But that doesnt mean that I dont respect those that feel differently.
chopped up bloody muscles or a cucumber? cucumber wins. and of course the environmental and ethical reasons, but at first it was mainly that aesthetical reason. of course now, i love animals and i wouldnt eat someone i havent met.
just cause a persons ethics are fucked up to me doesnt mean i cant refrain from saying something in real life. that is to say i mimic respect when i have to. but here. i dont. and i dont respect fucked up ethics.
