I was just on the train on my way home and I got asked by a lady passenger why are you barefoot? Did your shoes get stolen? I replied no, I just prefer to go with my shoes off. The lady looked at me like she felt sorry for me and offered to buy me a pair of thongs so I wouldn't have to run around barefoot. She was looking at my dirty bare feet with a lot of concern! I assured her I was on my way home and would be fine. It's nice to know there are caring people in the world, even if you don't actually need their assistance!
I'm so... flabbergasted? That is really nice of that lady... god bless her I hope she knows how wonderful she is. However, that must make you feel awkward. You can't be like "look lady bug off" but if you prefer shoeless then you can't take her offer (or her money and waste it). LOL, I really don't know what to say. I've never been in a position like that before!
that would be a pickle. she is offering you something out of kindness/concern, a something you don't want nor need but at the same time don't want to come off as a jackass by saying "buzz off lady I like being barefoot, mind your own business". not sure how I would handle it.
