i think it's silly. it always make me sorta giggle, because men have the XY setup, women have the XX setup. but every time i see "womyn" i still think it's alluding to masculinity, because of the whole chromasome thingie. even in trying to become differentiated from the male sex, there's still a reminder smack right there in their statement. i'm easily entertained.

Ah its silly if you ask me. Ive seen it spelled wimin before too. Wimin, womyn, woman, women. Whatever! I suppose it all means the same thing in the end- female. And having the 'wo' in front of 'man' is a honor if you ask me, not degrading or anything like that :)

I wouldn't mind if they changed it to "womb man"! Makes me feel like a superhero for being a mom!

That's seems to be a wierd perception of it, because "man" is derivative of "woman" as it is the literal biological sense of any man is given birth to by a woman (of course except for lab grown humans).

actually, if it was spelled the way it sounds in american, it would be spelled wemen...or in the singular, woomen.

There was this kid in my 6th grade English class that refused to spell "Bologna"...

He wrote Balony.... and wouldn't change it.

    Silly.
