Im sure theres got to be some Flaming Lips fans on here.

They recorded the new album 'At War With The Mystics' about 5-10 minutes from where I live, in Cassadaga NY. By complete chance, I ended up running into Wayne Coyne at a restuarant in Cassadaga with my buddies.

Hes a mad chill guy, and their music is fabulous.

NOTE: 'Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots' is becoming a BROADWAY show!! I cant wait!

Of coarse The Lips are fucking amazing.
When I first checked them out i wasn't into it at all. But then after a while I gave them a second chance and fell in love.
Yoshimi is the shit... so is Transmissions and Clouds Taste Metallic.
Idk about Mystics yet though, maybe it will grow on me.

Yeah, 'The Soft Bulletin' and 'Yoshimi...' were both instant favorites.

Mystics did take a little while for me to get into, but its a great album when you do. I wouldn't rank it up there with their last two efforts, but its a good album, and I got the 2-CD set which has got a couple bonus tracks and some videos and whatnot.

I remember hearing them a while ago and really liking them =] I'll be sure to get back into them because they seem to be pretty popular (for an Indie band)

I saw on a Rolling Stone article that said "She doesn't use jelly" was one of the worst (if engaging) songs of the nineties. I was totally shocked. They're assholes!

    Yeah, I saw that also.

Rolling Stone fully realizes the greatness that is the Lips though, The Soft Bulletin, Yoshimi..., and Mystics are spoken very highly of in the magazine. And I didnt care for that 'She Dont Use Jelly' song much either.

Yoshimi on Broadway is gonna be so sick!

I only have "The Soft Bulletin" but I love it, it's got such a warm and fuzzy feeling to it.
